Fun video Really like that song actually Here is the ideal tracklist for this album to make it more digestible and cut out some of the bad tracks imo 1. Shook By Your Shaved Head 2. Greatest of All Time 3. Nothing To Say 4. Stay Awhile 5. Himalaya 6. Like I Never Existed 7. Do You Want To Settle Down? 8. The Way You Deserve 9. Trophy 10. Scarier Than Jason Voorhees 11. Slipping Away
Same Side Sitters rules. Double Chin For The Win got me going during my run yesterday. And The Way You Deserve is super fun and that bass solo in the bridge is awesome. Very Mark Hoppus-esque. But my goodness, the lyrics on this thing haha...I constantly have to prepare myself to embrace the cheese with this album. My two least favorite tracks are Jason Voorhees (which sucks bc I love horror movies) and Birthday song.
Finally got around to listening to the album. The instrumentals are fantastic, but oh my, a lot of the lyrics are pretty cringy haha. I do enjoy 'Stay Awhile' though a lot, and it was a good choice for a single. And as a drummer myself, goodness, I love Cyrus' kit in this! I love the purple and gold!
If they decide to move forward with a third single, I really hope it's The Way You Deserve. Super catchy.
The behind the scenes video he did for the album recording was awesome. Check it out if you havent. I'm not even a drummer and it was so fascinating the details he cares about with drums.
They should make a change pace with the next single and make it Slipping Away. Max Moore could probably put together a more serious/cool music video idea.
In a strange turn of events, this album has made me appreciate Radiosurgery much more than i used to.... It's like the new album are the b-sides to Radiosurgery.
Y'know, I have to admit, I've really come around on that lyric about looking cringey at a restaurant. It's so unfathomably bad that it ends up on the so bad it's good scale for me. I laugh every single time I hear it. It's so funny. The fact that he somehow managed to sing that with a straight face, devoid of a single bit of self-awareness, that it was approved by who knows how many people down the chain of command (the whole band, producer etc.), and was released officially as an album track blows my mind.
Anyone else think NFG's merch designs is awful. Similar to Blink I think it has gotten worse over the years.
I mostly enjoy this album if I completely turn my brain off from the lyrics, but they’re just so corny lol Even the lyrics in hardcore breakdown of Himalaya are about as generic tough guy hardcore as you can possibly get.. “BREAK THOSE OLD CHAINS HOLDING YOU DOWN YOU CAN’T MOVE FORWARD TO WEAR YOUR CROWN”
I mean, it takes a degree of courage to wear NFG apparel these days anyway but man they're not making it easy with designs like these. What is even going on here...
