Nope. I said it doesn’t make what chad did right. Just saying that Steve did worse shit than only cheat on his wife.
I think the concern with Lisa is she's super Catholic and was homeschooled and sheltered plus his history
I would be concerned for any woman dating chad regardless of age because he is a serial cheater, which is a form of emotional abuse. The fact that he consistently targets women much younger than him who haven’t had the chance to learn about healthy love is a BONUS concern.
is catalyst not their TOYPAJ? Very good but not quite enema? (Sticks and stones) coming home self titled? Then a mess of goodness (and bad) after that.
Im not excusing anything, but it does sadden me to see some of this. Chad has always seemed like a super nice dude in person and everything. I guess you just never really know.
Chad has been a youth leader for some student ministry for a while now, but I can’t speak for 2003 - 2007 Chad. Growing up in a weird southern Christian upbringing myself, it’s an unfortunate and gross trend of a little bit older dudes hitting on younger girls waiting for them to turn 18. Which adds a whole new dimension to the Chad thing especially with Hayley and Sheri. Religion and predatory behavior have a pretty big overlap if it were put in a Venn diagram. Maybe Lisa is different and they connected on genuine religious values, but it’s hard to believe considering his track record.
Creativity and actions of the musician should never interfere with each other. Frank Sinatra was closely associated with the world of the mafia, and Notorious B.i.g. with the criminal. However, they remain great musicians of all time.
Oops. "My friends over you" was written by Steve. Chad didn’t touch lyrics until “Ressurection” (exception - “When I Die”). For this reason, it becomes clear why the lyrics on the new album are so childish.
And in the end, nfg always made good music, and I personally don't give a damn about rumors about Chad’s relationship and false accusations against Steve. Steve will always remain for me one of the best songwriters, Chad as a good guitar player, and also Jordan - my favorite voice in pop punk.
albums solid but honestly maybe on the same level of like radiosurgery as in a bit forgettable. Totally fun, great listen, but not the same impact as Makes Me Sick. I'll definitely give it a bunch of listens though.
Despite every single post you’ve made being terrible, you should probably at least know that “oops” this is an early song Chad took credit for! New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert told Kerrang!magazine February 16, 2008: "When I was younger I went out with this girl, and when I was going out with her she lost her virginity to the guy that hooked us up. When New Found Glory were on tour I broke up with her, and that's why the lyrics go, 'There's no room left here on my back, it was damaged long ago.' 'My friends over you' is a very straightforward, sarcastic, bros before hos line!"
Finally got around to this last night and honestly the only song that really stuck out on first listen was Double Chin, that chorus is great. I'll go back and listen again but I'm starting to feel like I might be outgrowing this band
They are probably capable of making a record that you might like, but chose to go in this direction this time. Hopefully the next one is better for you!
Excuse me, I was wrong. I just took this phrase about "Coming Home" from Chad as the basis: "I've always been a part of the music and I've always written the music for the band, but I've never been a part of the lyrics. This time I just kind of felt like in order to kind of have the best record, we had to do things different. That's what made it stand out like that."
Beyond everything else that was rightfully addressed by others here I’m also kind of offended by the fact that you’re comparing Chad to Frank Sinatra or Biggie
