It's my first time seeing NFG and The Movielife life. And I love Bayside. This is just gonna be one three hour sing-a-long.
I just hope The Movielife have somewhat of a crowd on this tour It's been depressing every time I've seen them recently
I don't know what it's like for everyone else, but I feel like this show is at a venue too big for them. Although maybe they're banking on the Bayside draw? I bet that's it.
When they have "weak" openers, New Found Glory typically plays a venue with a ~900 capacity draw, but when it's a co-headliner or a strong package tour? They wind up at our House of Blues which is ~2,500 if they open the upper floor and such. I think there's definitely some decent overlap with the fans of these bands -- but there's also people who would go see Bayside (and/or the Movielife) who wouldn't be bothered seeing New Found Glory otherwise. I'm sure you could say the same about Ryan Key solo too. This is a pretty smart package for everybody involved, IMHO.
Stone pony summerstage makes sense to me. With this line-up? Definitely. And haha no it's not bayside specifically.
I bet if I could type out Baysides setlist for this tour right now and be correct Unless they recently started changing their sets up. I guess it's been kind of a while since I've seen them
But yeah, me too: Masterpiece Devotion and Desire Blame It on Bad Luck Don't Call Me Peanut The Walking Wounded They're Not Horses, They're Unicorns I and I Sick, Sick, Sick Two Letters I've Been Dead All Day Mary Maybe a couple more?
Montauk. They will play that song AT. EVERY. SHOW. I love the shit out of Bayside, and Montauk is a great song at all, but let it rest for a while and give a different song a chance in the setlist, maybe?
As a Long Islander/New Yorker I've seen Bayside 20-25 times. Great band, great live band, great people. That being said they are abysmal at mixing up their setlists.
Yeah, I'm mostly going to this for Bayside, but deep down I know that, especially since their a supporting act, the setlist is going to be composed of songs that I've already seen live 10 or so times. Which is fine, but I'd still like to see it mixed up a bit
If it's a similar set list to the last few "regular" tours, I'm going to be really bummed. I was hoping that after learning some of those older songs and doing album shows/tours that Bayside would switch it up some... That's what I've found happens with a lot of bands. They tour an album and figure out, "Oh shit! THIS SONG actually gets fans going now!" and they'll toss it in there or whatever.
VIP soundcheck today they played Call Me Anti-Social, Something I Call Personality, and Never Give Up. They have the "Wheel of NFG Fast songs" that they spun twice for us.
