I was dating someone via long distance and I met my wife and broke up with my gf very quickly so I could take a chance with my wife.

Obviously it worked out in the end but I felt pretty shitty for a good while because everything happened so quickly

not at all. you have no reason to feel shame imo

 

nothing i have never not did in a relationship has not been anything more or less than not equal to cheating.

 

I did the same thing once, in high school. Had serious feelings for someone else, broke up with my girlfriend at the time. That's the right thing to do, imo.
