Full Metal Jacket is pretty good, but I didn't love it. It has been a while since I've watched it, so maybe I'll dig it more next time.

 

I've seen Dr Stranglove, Clockwork Orange, and The Shining.

I guess Eyes Wide Shut and Full Metal Jacket are about to expire

 

The score for Eyes Wide Shut is haunting and beautiful. Very, very good movie.

 

I liked Full Metal Jacket but I wasn't blown away

 

Barry Lyndon is another great one in his filmography. I've seen all his films except for a few of the early ones he didn't have creative control over.

 

The Shining is a perfect horror film.

 

Excited for the Shining. I know it was on Netflix sometime in the last two years, but I never got to it.

I just saw 2001 (for the first time) in IMAX for the 50th anniversary and it completely blew me away.

Eyes Wide Shut and FMJ are the only other Kubrick films I’ve seen in full. I’ve seen scenes of Shining, Spartacus, and even a good chunk of the doc about Shining, but still never the full film.

I am uncultured swine so I thought 2001 was soooooooo boring t b h

 

I would totally not be surprised to hear of anyone not liking 2001. I loved it though

 

2001: A Space Odyssey is like modern art in that I absolutely love it, but totally get why people don't "get it" or like it or whatever.

 

I am a sheeple who just watches predictable horror movies about college kids getting axed in the face and whatnot so 2001 was a struggle

 

I found it hard to watch but I was also anticipating a thriller

 

I guess I didn't know what to expect other than knowing it's a classic or whatever. I guess subconsciously I mightve had it pegged as a Sci fi thriller or something idek but I was like ..... Oh

All the Monty Python material (with the exception of Holy Grail) is on Netflix in the US now, hell yes.

 

Actually, apparently Life of Brian is the only movie available

 

But all of Flying Circus is there?

 

Yes, as well as the live stuff and documentaries

 

I don't know anything about Monty Python besides having seen The Holy Grail as a teenager

 

I can’t get into any of their stuff.

 

2001 is probably in my top 10
