I like his podcast
Looking forward to this as hard as it may be to watch. Will report back.
Yes! I’ve listened to some of that, but running through it all is probably the perfect suggestion. I’ve seen a fair chunk of his work, which is why I mentioned obscure. It’s mostly his super early stuff that I haven’t looked into, but I don’t know if that’s even streaming except for maybe on BritBox.
Have you seen bad Samaritan and is it good?
Not really obscure, but have you seen Jessica Jones Season 1?
JJ made me feel like he could actually be a bad person lol
You’re full of good suggestions tonight. That’s one I’ve been meaning to but haven’t had high on my priority list. I know it’s on prime, so I’ll watch it and report back!
Haven’t watched Jessica Jones because I’m super out of the loop on anything MCU and I’m not sure if the show itself interests me. Everyone at DC kept talking about how great his character was though, so maybe it’s worth a shot?
What do you mean by everyone at DC?
JJ S1 is pretty standalone, and definitely worth your time. I think of it more as a drama about the repercussions of abuse than as a superhero show. Kind of like how Umbrella Academy is a drama about a dysfunctional family who just happens to have powers.
he's in the new Lena Dunham show lol
Oh sorry, bad time to combine acronyms. I meant during the panel at DragonCon. There were sooooo many comments about Kilgrave.
You don't really need to know anything about the MCU. Aside from a couple loose references here and there, it's pretty self-contained. It's still a comic book show, which may not be your thing, but I'd say it deals with heavier themes than the typical ones. More of a drama like @xkhiemster said.
"new lena dunham show" is a series of words i never wanted to hear
I personally can’t wait for this (as messed up as that sounds) so I’ll deff post about it
I was about to ask all about DC Entertainment
We don’t talk about Camping.
Can’t wait for Criminal though.
I’ll have to give it a go then. I’m generally uninterested in anything superhero at this point, but I do remember it getting hype for the themes when it came out.
Can’t believe no one recommended St. Trinian’s II yet.
Kilgrave is def one of the best Marvel bad guys, that's counting movies too.
Where does he rank compared to RoboSpader? Only slightly joking...
Absolutely. Kilgrave, Fisk and Kilmonger are definitely my favorite villains between the MCU and Marvel TV.
Better hair and wardrobe than RoboSpader for sure.
I know he wears purple which honestly should have been enough for me to watch it years ago.
You have to go back to Mrs. Maisel
Just started watching Derry Girls last night. Who knew there was so much humor to The Troubles.
The thumbnail for that (at least on mine) is bonkers.
