It’s definitely a cynical take to say this is the death of cinema. Paramount/Viacom is one of the laziest entertainment companies out there. They’re the same ones that turned MTV into the “Ridiculousness” channel and Comedy Central into “The Office” channel. Not to mention their abysmal, directionless app.

I guess them falling back on IP isn’t a huge surprise. There’s still other studios at least putting out some original films.

Growing up in an Italian family we would have sauce every Sunday at my Grandmother's house and since she passed away we pretty much stopped doing it. Watching this show has made me want to get back into doing that. So my girlfriend and I are starting the tradition back up next weekend. Only through the first 10 episodes, but it is great so far.

That’s awesome. I’m not Italian but i picked this up from the show since it’s referenced a dozen times & easy.

I have time for two movies on my flight today. Trying to pick between the following four. Haven’t seen any of them.

    Lost City of Z
    Marie Antoinette
    Hard Eight
    Annette

You should pick Pig instead of any of those

Yeah Hard Eight rules, and Lost City of Z too. Those would be my picks.

I can't remember, did you read the series?

I don't think so. Just this.

I bought all the trades and blew through them in no time. Loved the story. Didn't love the art.

I've never heard this reaction to Gabriel Rodriguez art, what'd you not like about it?

I'm not sure. Something about the way he draws faces is offputting to me.

Just signed up for HBO Max. Hoping to be able to get to a selection screen and watch something within the next nine hours!

Malignant was really fun, all the backstory and reveal stuff was great even if a lot of it didn't make sense. Fun horror movie for sure.

Watched S2 of Central Park finally. One I enjoy much more as a binge than week-to-week

I used to love week-to-week shows because that was all we had, now I loathe waiting 7 days between episodes. By time the next episode rolls around I've forgotten a lot about what happened and by that point I'm usually watching something else that is binge-able(?) and I usually don't come back to the other a lot.

It honestly depends on the show for me. But sometimes waiting a week puts too much pressure on individual episodes and makes me critique them too much. Bob's Burgers works great week-to-week. Central Park and Jane the Virgin made me miserable, and were much better when I waited until the season was finished.
