@Jason Tate The Vast of Night was so good. Thanks for the rec.

Loved the writing and how the convos between the main characters, especially to carry that opening scene of them with the recorder, felt so realistic and not like dialogue. Great acting to boot.

So many scenes had my skin crawling in that movie. The interview with the old lady, the car scene with the couple, the radio guy telling his story... I think this and Arrival have two of the most engrossing ~aliens arriving~ scenes I can think of. They capture the rush of fear but curiosity that would probably rush over if aliens just showed up out of the sky.
I recently found out they did a run of drive-in showings last spring. Wish I could see it like that.

I just watched The Vast of Night a couple days ago and really enjoyed it too. Would be a perfect drive-in movie.

Followed through on this and finished a little bit ago. Pretty good! Very surprised to have never heard of it before. Really effective character building, it felt like I learned a lot about each person without feeling like they were shoving exposition in my face, which helped to realize quickly when people weren’t “themselves”. It was also so similar to the movie I thought it kind of reminded me of that I’m actually gonna retroactively spoiler tag it, haha

    yeah good okay Prestigious

The ending seemed kinda abrupt but at the same time it didn't glorify the relationship or force a happy ending at all, which obviously is good.

It was way too long. Needed cut down.

No way, only six episodes and every episode was wilder than the last—so many layers to uncover. I was very satisfied with its length.

The ending felt like the only thing the show nails. The portrayal of the affair felt borderline glorifying at times and could have been handled better
