Really recommend The Undoing. That slow mystery, courtroom drama that doesn't shy away from a little gore and in-your-face jaw drops.

I'm a big Hugh Grant fan, a friend and I were discussing him as an underrated modern day Cary Grant type recently

"Hillbilly Elegy" is like an R-rated Kirk Cameron movie. What the hell happened to Ron Howard?

The DB Cooper doc on HBO Max is wild. So crazy how all of these suspects exist with such wild stories.

I haven’t seen the movie but the source material for Hillbilly Elegy is complete bullshit and right wing propaganda. It basically claims that rural Appalachia is struggling with unemployment and drug addiction because they spend too much money on TVs and aren’t manly enough like they used to be. It’s insulting nonsense.

For sure. I never read the book and have absolutely no desire to. I was more interested in how the movie would navigate it. It 100% took me back to the days of our youth group showing the Kirk Cameron-adjacent “life lesson” movies, where the poor Christian guy is looked down upon by them fancy city/liberal folk (though this side steps politics for the most part). It absolutely sucks.

Anyone watch any of the Saved by the Bell reboot?

  21. I also haven’t read Hillbilly Elegy, but the movie makes zero effort to engage with the political aspects of the story. It’s mostly just a bland biopic with a few great moments for Glenn Close.

Hillbilly Elegy seems like a waste of talent, amazing I have no desire to watch a movie with Amy Adams and Glenn Close lol

also I couldn't remember why the guy was shitty but working with Peter Thiel is worse than what I would have imagined haha

It’s hard for me to imagine the movie not being political, it seemed as though that was the main point of the book. It’s even more baffling someone would want to do a straight biopic of this chud’s life.
