Finished S1 of How I met Your Father

Moments I like but holy heck did they waste a lot of story in the first season.

I actually really like That 90’s Show so far. A little stiff and awkward in the first episode, but finds it’s rhythm as it goes along. Only watched the first 4 so far, though. Disney Channel comment be damned - the humor is not that different from the original.

 

I've been bingeing the original show over the last week so I'm glad to have it fresh in my mind to compare

This 90’s show discourse is giving me whiplash

 

I just can’t stand shows set in a certain time that have to constantly make references to things set at that time. Not trying to overthink “That ‘90s Show,” but we get that it’s set in the ‘90s.

 

Well that’s kind of the whole thing isn’t it? It’s like hating stranger things because all of the 80’s references even though that’s most of the reason why it blew up in the first place

 

For sure. But I feel like stuff of that time is just part of that world and they’re not constantly pointing it out. Either way, it’s a fine, corny sitcom. I’m not trying to get too deep into criticism. But that kind of trope drives me crazy.
