HBO max had the best library.

 

So am I gonna have to cancel my HBO Max subscription and sign up for a separate HBO subscription if I want to watch their scripted series? This shit is confusing. Are shows like Hacks leaving for HBO?

 

It's like they're doing the exact opposite of what they would need to do to compete against Disney+, especially when it comes to DC content, it's infuriating

 

Looks like they're having a conference call tomorrow. If all the scripted stuff goes to HBO, that will get my money.

 

Marvel has only recently been doing better wrt representation, whereas DC has been doing it for years, except it's not in huge theatrical events, so they're cutting down on all the shows with queer and/or POC characters. I didn't think it'd get this bad, though. Scared for Black Canary and Blue Beetle. DC content being on HBO Max was a huge draw for me

 

I don't understand how this is gonna affect the user-facing product. Are they gonna rename the HBO Max app, or create a new one entirely?

This collapse is sad, though. HBO Max is probably my most used streaming service and they consistently have great original content imo.

HBO Max as it stands today is easily the best streaming service. They’re going to massacre it.

HBO max is also the most expensive streaming service I use by about double. They don’t have to make it a lot worse for me to cancel that sub

 

so I pay $9.99 for the ad supported plan but the ads are barely shown on HBO originals. If anything it’s a 30 second spot before the show starts. It’s not like Hulu where they have multiple 2 minute breaks for ads. I find it with it for the savings.

 

Huh I didn’t even know that was an option. I think I pay 15 or 16 without ads.

New owner is slashing tons of shit. There’s an event tomorrow apparently and likely will give us more insight and likely announce more stuff that’s slashed.

 

Ive never really been too into HBO Max Originals besides a handfull of limited series but i just really hope they don't cut their TCM library, besides the HBO legacy shows that is the main draw for HBO Max for me personally.

Saw a tiktoker theorize that they're trying to bridge the gap between middle- and metropolitan-America by implementing more of Discovery's unscripted content to HBO's platform, but for some stupid reason they're cutting a bunch of the scripted HBO Max and especially DC content that I happened to be interested in and idk i guess reality shows just aren't my thing

Once my three year Disney+ subscription is over I'm switching to add the Hulu bundle, fuck Discovery
