The Americans finally coming to Hulu 7/29! Was this announced previously? Does this mean Amazon lost their exclusive rights?

This means at the end of this month Hulu's FX library will finally be completed (minus the one series that shouldn't be on Hulu for good reason)

Watching Leaving Las Vegas which just got put on Paramount+ today for the first time. Cage giving probably the best drunk guy performances ever.

Keep thinking about that Cum Town bit where Nick said "If you watch Leaving Las Vegas while drunk you think it's actually a movie about the world's most charming man"

How much storage do you have out of curiosity? I started getting into Plex but like.. 5 or 6 shows is all it takes to use up most of my 1TB ssd lol

I have an external HD that I download my shows and movies to, it's 4TB, and keep it there for storage. On my local computer, I have a folder called Plex. I drop files in the Plex folder until I watch them, then delete them from the folder. My Plex folder right now is about 150 GB

I have two 4TB drives, but most of my stuff is 720 and 1080p so I have plenty of space to just fill it up with whatever garbage looks midly interesting. In time, as the drives fill up more, I'll probably clean up my library and get rid of stuff that I didn't care for or haven't/probably never will watch, and might replace some of my favorites with higher resolution files.

I will say that having a Shield TV as a Plex server is fantastic. Don't have to worry about my MacBook being on or anything. Just sits neatly stored underneath my sound bar

Nice, 8TB is definitely a better set up! I gotta look into HDDs, I don't really need to be blowing crazy money on SSDs just to store some video files

  13. I have a 2 TB external hard drive exclusively for my TV shows/movie collection that I use for Plex. It's got a shit ton of stuff on it between 720 and 1080p and i still have quite a bit of space available.

I truly cannot imagine downloading 720p videos for my TV heh they look awful enough on my tablet, nevermind a full size TV

  15. Sitting over here with my two 10 TB drives B-)

What's on here currently ... 314 movies, and 56 TV shows

I have a 4K TV but unless I'm like sitting down and watching a movie, I usually watch stuff in the bedroom and that TV is only 1080p, so I'm not too particular.

But yeah, you can get HDDs pretty cheap.

I have two of the 4tb ones of these (even the 5tb ones are only $110 now)

I'm afraid one or both of the drives will go out at some point, but they've been running strong day and night for years now. I should probably buy a couple new drives and back everything up, but there's not too much I'm that worried about losing.

  17. I pretty much only download 1080p now that I have this 2TB hard drive. But I get 720 if that's all that's available, like for older more obscure TV shows or movies. They really don't look too bad on my TV and computer anyway, so it's not too big of a deal for my sitch.

Also I guess Feud: Bette and Joan got added to Hulu today too. I remember it being pretty good. Might give it a rewatch.

  19. I use my friends plex and he has about 1500 movies and 100 or so shows

"The Day The Music Died: American Pie" Documentary about Don McLean's American Pie streaming on Paramount+ 7/19.

Seems like they're making that song seem wayyy important to that era than it actually was. Like it was "The Times They Are A-Changin" or "Fortunate Son" or something. Still will probably watch it.

Started watching "Jerry & Marge Go Large" because it automatically started playing after Leaving Las Vegas and I just rolled with it. Man this great cast and potentially interesting plot is wasted on this poorly written feel-good cliche bullshit.

As of right now: The Americans and Louie. Louie will never be added back on Hulu for obvious reasons. Feud was missing too but just got added today.

There might be some shows that got cancelled after one season not on there, but by August once Americans is added i'm pretty sure their project making Hulu the one-stop shop for FX content will finally be complete.

I fib that Anger Management sitcom with Charlie Sheen that aired on FX a few seasons in the midst of early 2010's Sheen-mania isn't on there. Granted that was a Lionsgate TV production and not produced by FX, that's probably why. That never fit with their brand anyway.
