I never watched the OC but always thought it had like 8 seasons.

missed this discussion earlier but East of Eden is easily my favorite Steinbeck, with Winter of Our Discontent right behind. would actually love an adaptation of Winter over East, though. or To A God Unknown from his short stories.

The OC was killing on Wednesdays, then they put it against Friends and Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday.

I only watched a few episodes of The OC because I couldn't immerse myself in a show where literally every character including the parents was insanely hot and their school looked like a college campus

I love that HBO Max included The Wire's prequel shorts under Extras. I think before those were only available on the DVD special features and youtube rips.

The OC was WILDLY popular when I was in college amongst all my friends. I never watched a single episode. Never will.

Haven't seen The Wire but that'll be next after The Sopranos

Great choice. Both masterpiece shows that came out around the same era, and both seem to me to be about the struggle against corruption—but Sopranos looks inward while The Wire looks outward. They complement each other in that way IMO

It was filmed on an actual college campus; some school that was like 40 miles away from Newport Beach

Man From Toronto is exactly what you'd expect from a netflix buddy comedy in 2022. Not funny enough to be a memorable comedy and not enough fun action for a dumb popcorn thriller either. Always nice seeing Woody though.

Yeah two massive blind spots in my life lol. I'll immediately become a much more useful citizen in modern day society for having watched them

They both are very rewarding rewatches too so you’ve really got a lot to look forward to.

  20. I rarely rewatch shows unless I'm introducing a show I've seen to someone else. I'm always juggling new stuff and don't make time for rewatches. I know I've run through The Leftovers and Community a few times, but not much else.

As someone who has seen the entirety of The Wire at least a half dozen times and goes on youtube holes of wire scenes i've already seen regularly what i would not give to see that opening "Snot Boogey" scene with fresh eyes again.

The only shows I’ve completely rewatched more than twice are the wire and Seinfeld.

The Wire, Sopranos, Mad Men, and The West Wing i've watched in full more than twice. The West Wing kind of makes me mad to watch now so i don't know how I did that.

Also if we're counting limited series I've watched Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, and Generation Kill a half dozen times each easily.
