Beyond The Infinite Two Minutes recently got added to prime, it’s so good. 70 minute micro budget Japanese time loop movie, really fun

 

Finally gave BABY a whirl. Many points for originality and being super unique in many ways. Hated the man character and the ending felt incredibly rushed, but ill gladly take more stuff like this going forward

 

Has anyone in here watched Ghosts? I've been thinking about checking it out. Another CBS show on Paramount+ that's been getting really good reviews and seems out of place on CBS.

 

It's definitely worth watching.

 

It’s solid. Funny and a nice watch. Nothing like crazy compelling but worth following.

 

Ghosts and Abbott Elementary are the only network shows I've watched this year.

 

The Old Man is fucking incredible. Bridges + Lithgow together is such a good combo.

 

Also Alia Shawkat who is just fantastic in everything she's in.

 

yeah, I have a theory on her character that I feel like could make the show a little silly but they've handled everything well 1/3 in so far so i'm willing to see it

This Iron Chef is bizarre. Not sure I'm a big fan. It feels a lot cheesier than what I'm used to from the show.

 

I can't imagine anything more daunting than having to play a James Dean role for whoever is cast

 

There was so much more to the character than what Dean brought though. I have zero faith they will do the book justice but if they did it could way better than the original.

 

I will say this statement from the article is promising:
“More than anything, I have wanted to give full expression to the novel’s astonishing, singular antiheroine, Cathy Ames.”
Cathy is the best character in the book imo

Yeah East if Eden is easily his best imo. GOW I didn’t even like much but East of Eden is in my top 5 all time.

 

I have not read any Steinbeck

People, pleaseee don’t forget Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday. I still need to read EOE and GOW, but Steinbeck is great. A lot funnier and lyrically beautiful than I’d expected going in.
