I said it elsewhere but their media production seems to at least partially be an extension of their CEO’s “freedom of expression” Bill Maher-esque “liberalism”, and as queer creators continue to see Netflix as a hostile place for them, and as prestige artists find no funding there, it’s just gonna be reality, Stranger Things spin-offs, and Chappelle/Gervais/etc anti woke comedy in five years

"streaming services don't care about prestige artists" is a weird bad take the internet has considering Netflix's upcoming slate includes:

andrew "every movie I've ever made has been ruined by a studio and they're letting me do an NC17 movie" dominik
    innaritu
    baumbach
    GDT
sam esmail (wtf just learned about this one, a pandemic drama about race)
    David Fincher
    Wes Anderson

And these are all actual Netflix productions, not "we saw this at a festival and bought it" (albeit, before the current Netflix crisis)

But netflix is gonna give those 1/50 the promo they give Red Notice 2 haha, they want the awards but don't care about the actual movies or artists

It’s not an internet take it was literally just reported as such in regards to Netflix and we’re just responding to it

  6. I think Tinder's only after relatively cheap but buzzy content like Bad Vegan and Tinder Swindler lately, their documentaries have been more "viral" than their shows for a while, with some exceptions.

I was just looking it up the other day trying to figure out when we'd get new episodes. Didn't even seem like it was in production, very glad to get this so soon!

Did anyone else watch Killing It on Peacock? It stars Craig Robinson and Claudia O'Doherty and I actually thought it was really good. Super original premise and pretty damn funny

i saw the lebron-produced HUSTLE (on netflix next wednesday) starring sandler and it's mostly nothing you haven't seen before but it's still done pretty well and sandler gives a performance along the lines of what i think a lot particular folks wanted more of. juancho hernangómez is no slouch either

I watched Kid 90 last night. Didn't know much going into it but thought it was great.

its a pretty cool Ridley Scott directed sci-fi show. Might not specifically be your cup of tea but theres a fairly substantial audience including myself and others in here.

I liked the bulk of the first season but didn't care for the ending. Had no real desire to watch the second season.
