i don't remember if this was in glee's first season, but i vaguely recall (i believe it was) kurt bemoaning the glee club's place on the social totem pole, describing it as "even lower than the special needs kids"

    yikes all around

If you want to break out into nervous laughter, watch the scene where Mr Schue tells the kids “you’re all minorities, you’re in glee club”

In terms of yikes and kind of how far TV has come in the past decade, my rewatch of “30 Rock” made me realize there was a lot weird trans jokes that I did not remember from my last go-round with it.

  8. Started/caught up with Titans, then watched the first episode of Warrior, Big Hero 6 the Series, and Young Justice. Kind of wild how Ryan Potter is in Titans and Big Hero 6 haha. It's like when I found out Karen Fukuhara from Suicide Squad and The Boys was also in She-Ra.

I just watched Professor Marston and the Wonder Woman on HBO Max, finally. I'd been wanting to see it for a while but avoided it for so long I guess because I felt some sort of shame for being interested in it in the first place, but as the movie itself would argue there's nothing to be ashamed of. The movie is as endearing as it is fascinating, it's sensual and inspiring, and the performances do such an amazing job of making you fall in love with these characters as they fall for each other. Yeah it's based on the real life origin story of a comic book superhero, but the romance at the center of it is so much more than that. I'd used to say oh Fifty Shades is bad go watch Secretary instead, but this, I mean, I think it just became one of my favorite movies of all time. I didn't expect to be so deeply moved by it.

edit: Should probably mention, I did some reading and it seems like a common criticism of the movie is that it's very loosely based on actual events, especially regarding the actual nature of the poly relationship at the center of it. I personally don't mind as long as it makes me feel something, but I'm sure there are comic historians out there who might be put off by its portrayal

“Kate” unfortunately is not good. Mary Elizabeth Winstead deserves a good solo movie where she can kick ass and this is not it.

Haha. Those are two very different things. I appreciate “Malignant” for being off the wall and campy and you never know where it’s going, even though I ultimately thought it wasn’t good. With “Kate,” you know exactly how everything is going to go from scene one.

I didn't mind Kate. It was just another John Wick film, but had some great kills in it.

The way so many people reacted so aggressively to Scorsese’s commentary on “content” and how Marvel films are a part of an obviously troubling trend gives me similar feelings that flat earthers do.
