Immediately reminds me of Buried.

 

So I read these posts in passing and my spider-sense tingled a bit. Then I read an article about the premise of the movie, quickly did some research, and I'm both shocked, excited, and concerned all at the same time.

This is actually a remake of a Danish movie of the same title. Me and a coworker at the time randomly watched this on Hulu last year. It was really good.

I'm beside myself right now that Netflix is remaking a random movie I watched, but I really hope they don't fuck it up.

 

i think they renewed 2 and 3 simultaneously after season 1

There was an Oscar-nominated foreign short film a couple years ago called "A Sister" that was this exact premise

 

Having read what that's about and assuming Netflix doesn't heavily deviate from the source material, I can emphatically state I cannot explain the differences between the two without potentially spoiling something.

 

Well one difference is that "A Sister" shows what is happening from the woman's POV (though A Sister was not graphic at all), while this one looks to be entirely from the 911 caller's position

 

there's also the Halle Berry movie

 

Unless they changed something, then yes, I can say that it is.

Hollywood is so lazy. I just saw a headline: "Doogie Howser, M.D.' returns — with a clever twist" and immediately knew what the twist was, as I am sure every single one of you does.... yes, it is gender swapped..... sigh.
