Finished Amphibia season 2. That season finale was bonkers, I'm so excited for what it sets up for the future of the series. The comparison with The Owl House still stands in that they're both isekai, but I'm also seeing a lot in common with Tangled the Series: the first two seasons are mostly exposition and world building, with the first season taking place mostly in one location before it opens up in the second, and then the third season is where the show will really shine.

Between Amphibia, The Owl House, and Tangled, I don't think I could say which is better or pick a favorite, I'm just really glad these three shows (and She-Ra!) exist. These are some really great kids shows with strongly written female main characters. I kinda wish I'd see more people talk about Amphibia and Tangled, but I get why TOH and SPOP are so popular they're gay.

Finished season three of Infinity Train; the clip I saw on tik tok was a spoiler for the third season finale. Seeing it out of context was what put the show on the radar for me, I'm glad to finally know what led up to it. While this season was overall a step down from the previous ones for me, I still really enjoyed it. I can't believe there's only one season left, I can't imagine why they canceled something so good so soon.

 

The new Netflix documentary on Malice at the Palace was good. I remember watching it live as it happened. Crazy.

Anyone ever experience some slight hiccups / pauses on Hulu with an Amazon FireStick?

I’ve had Netflix for years and (knock on wood) never experienced much of an issue and have only had Hulu for a few months but notice that it stops a few times for a few seconds during each movie, a short buffering. Don’t think I’ve gotten through a single movie or tv show episode without it doing it which gets a little annoying after awhile but total first world problem

 

I have that problem much more often with HBO Max, myself.

I just finished Superstore last night. That show starts off kinda slow but gets really funny after season 1. Loved the finale too.

 

That was a very “I’m not really laughing but I don’t really hate it either” show for me for the first few seasons. I remember being really sick for a couple of days, just needing something easy and appreciating it for being that. The last two or three seasons were legitimately hilarious though, they really found their footing and figured out how to throw a gut punch when needed. Pretty unique perspectives of immigrant workers and COVID protocols too that you wouldn’t get from most other sitcoms

 

I'd recommend Watch The Sound to anyone on here, it's on Apple TV and is basically a little docu-series from Mark Ronson that focuses on a singular part of recording each episode like Reverb, Sampling and Autotune (first three episodes). A ton of really cool people who he interviews, lots of in depth discussions and at the end of each episode he has created a whole new song, all 6 of which are out digitally as an EP.

 

This sounds right up my alley, good call

I thought it was fucked up that it was getting theatrical release but all the original Sony films weren't haha, it was that and Addams Family and everything else that wasn't ip was going straight to streaming

We watched the four episode Netflix documentary on the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist. Pretty fascinating stuff. My wife went there during a trip to Boston. She said the frames are still there with no paintings, just a note saying what painting it was.

 

Yeah they’re very up front about the theft to this day. Which I find kinda fascinating.
