Seeing nick offerman do such a non ron swanson role is great. Not sure I've seen him do any drama before.

 

He had a role in Fargo, which is more drama than comedy for sure. But otherwise, yeah this is not his usual.

 

Heart Beats Loud is a mix of comedy and drama

 

He was AMAZING in that one scene where he has the long monologue

 

he’s very good but devs was the first time i was like wowwwww. there’s something about his vocal cadence that, even in the good indie stuff he’s been in previously, was kinda wooden to me. but it fit the writing and persona in devs so well

 

Agreed that Devs’ performances/character writing feels a bit stilted. They’re tech geeks—is the thing, but not sure if that’s what’s keeping it from feeling 100% authentic. Really great show, but definitely the one flaw that kept me from loving it completely.

Just watched Bad Day in the Cut on Netflix, never heard of it before and really liked it. Solid irish revenge tale, enough humor to get through the bleak bits.

 

whole episode is gone from Netflix, just got to that part in my re-watch and had to individually download that episode when I got to it

 

I just kinda fell off Community shortly after Donald left. Always wanted to finish it, were the last seasons good?

 

Started “The Confession Killer” on Netflix. Some wild stuff right off the bat.

 

S5 was very good with some instant classics, except for the last 3 episodes. They were very rough.

S6 is their best season imo, but I know that's controversial. Rewatching now, and every single episode I'm like "Oh hell yeah it's the X episode!? Oh hell yeah, this episode has X scene!?" and I'm just constantly laughing. It's best to treat it like a different show, it goes a lot darker with the humor. As an IASIP fan, I love that. Also one of the greatest series finales ever, I challenge you not to tear up.

 

Nice, definitely gonna finish it then.

 

season six is solid with a couple duds, but it’s worth it for the very last three eps

 

I think I fell off around season 4.

 

The grifter one was especially weak, which sucks because Matt Berry is great. Can't think of any other duds, though

 

the rv one, the one where they make a film with partial footage... i think that’s it

 

That's so weird, the film one is one of my favorites lol. Yeah, I didn't love the RV one on the first watch, but I like it a lot now. I agree it's lower tier compared to the rest of the season

 

Season 4 is the obvious low point, it's still nice and fun, but you can tell it's missing that special Harmon spark. Seasons 5 & 6 aren't quite the quality of 1-3 due to the cast changing up, but it's still a great show

 

Should I actually finish it then? Damn you all.
