Same. I was on the cusp. Spongebob got popular right when I was at the age when I moved on from Nicktoons and got more into DBZ and Toonami.

 

I am 36. Spunch Bob came out when I was 10. Perfect time for it. Yall are not above spunch bob.

 

classic spongebob was like the looney tunes of its era. if anything about it was after my time it’s all the bullshit that followed

plus the first movie still whips. “you don’t need a license to drive a sandwich!”

 

I was 2 when SpongeBob came out. Perfect show

 

i remember watching it a bit sometime between ages 8 and 11 - encompassing the first 3 seasons (aka the golden/classic era) and the first movie. i might've seen a little bit of what comes after, but can't say for sure how much. i think it's universally acknowledged that the show dipped in quality after the movie.

I was 16 when SpongeBob came out, so it absolutely was never on my radar.

 

I watched SpongeBob a lot with my niece but will always prefer Rocko’s Modern Life for it’s attempt to prepare me for how utterly mundane adult working life can be and how a few corporations would end up owning everything

 

You picked that up watching Rocco’s modern life as a 7 year old?

 

I’m older than you but yes lol that’s the whole show. It made working life seem like a nightmare

 

I don’t remember it that well. It wasn’t a common show for my brother and I to watch.

Rocko’s Modern Life was the best. The special they put out in 2019 only highlighted how great it was and how well it has aged

Spongebob was also good but I’d be lying if I said the internet didn’t burn me out on it. It’s like the Friends of Nickelodeon cartoons. It just never goes away
