Yeah don’t watch the final season. Let the season 3 finale be the end for you

 

One of the characters in Sex Education was extremely wronged and I’ll die on that hill that it should’ve been her.

I wonder how many shows that would fit the “let the season 3 finale be the end for you.”

I’ve said that about The Office for what feels like 15 years. Anybody think of another show that the s3 finale would work as a stop for the show, regardless of how many seasons come next?

not season 3, but i'd be happy if the last two seasons of Good Girls (S3 & S4) just didn't exist

 

I only keep it at 3 since it matched my instant thought of The Office and it matched what was quoted. Also, if I expand it to any season as a stopping point, that would include nearly every long running show.

Keeping it at 3 narrows it down, maybe too much though. I had thoughts of Scrubs and 24, but I think I’d cut them off no earlier than 5. Both could end at 3, but I think both have great stuff in their 5th season that I wouldn’t want to miss out on. I haven’t run through a lot of series yet to see if I can find another good one to end at 3 yet.

 

that's the problem i'm running into as well. i've gone through my watchlist to see if there are any shows that would fit this criteria, and they're either shorter than or exactly 3, longer but with good seasons beyond 3, or declining in quality after 3 but not to the point where i'd write another season out of existence.

 

I used to consider s4 finale of The Wire the real finale but I recently revisited s5 and I was too harsh on it. It has problems but there’s still good stuff in it.

S5 has a lot of great stuff especially the ending and pretty much everything dealing with the newspaper. S4 is extremely powerful but it’s also so damn gutting that I think s5 brings it all together to a “satisfying” end

 

Season 5 of the wire is the worst but is still better than most other shows.
