I only know about it from this website tbh, so in my world that's very little care or buzz

I have no doubt it’ll probably be pretty massive when it comes out, if it isn’t complete shit, but it’s crazy to me that they’re doing this and generally no one even seems to know or care. Just shows how stupid WB is. But she’s probably best friends with Zaslav, so it makes sense.

Watching Paramount + at my parent’s house - they have commercials during shows? F this shit; why I won’t stream with them

I mean, up until fairly recently, a lot of people I chatted with about HP always said they thought a series would do the books more justice and be able to not have to cut out things from the longer books. There was definitely a want for this. But my friends in that crowd want nothing to do with it now, for obvious reasons.

Just watched the episode and oh my god that ending was brutal and grim as hell. I knew when they ran through the whole episode with no nightfall until the end that they were going to punch us in the gut from the start of the season, but that was not a death I expected. I wondered who it was Boyd was speaking to in the trailer when they showed the “no no no, I know, I know, I know…” scene but maaaaaaaan I didn’t know it was going to be the first episode in that context with that character. Ugh. I really can’t wait to see where they take this season.

That’s what I mean though. We’ve been saying we wanted that for a couple decades at this point, but they’re actually making it and casting right now and there’s no buzz at all from what I’ve seen. So yeah it’s something that was wanted but I feel like no one gives a shit now. Even the people that don’t care that she’s an awful person. Just crickets. But idk, just my experience.

I’m pretty sure there’s other ones that do that too. I know Prime did at one point at least. So scummy.

My wife and her friends have the exact same reasoning about the series being able to flesh things out more. I'm curious if this was done maybe in 10 years time if the views on it would be different, as the movies still feel recent enough.

They're also distancing themselves from this for J.K reasons, which is a shame (for my wife and her friends) because they had such a connection to this world and its characters and lore for so long, and really loved it.

In saying it's a shame I'm not siding with J.K and her views, it's just really shit for longtime fans of the world she created.

That death was equal parts depressingly hard to watch and jaw dropping at the shock of them torturing so casually by peeling the flesh off while he watches in sheer terror. My jaw dropped. I felt horrible for him. Shit I feel HORRIBLE for Kenny! Good question as to who Boyd was speaking to, I have no idea. I've been wondering if that cowboy bad guy is even a creature, I don't think we've seen him transform....is he like a leader? Do talismans not work on him? Another thing of note regarding the ending was how the creatures had ZERO incentive to hurt Boyd. They just wanted to break him by forcing him to watch and I wonder why. His blood from last season?. Dealing with the two timelines' mysteries so reminds me of Lost now. I love it!

Started watching A Very Royal Scandal on Amazon Prime. So far I am liking this a lot better than Netflix's Scoop which is about the exact same story.

The guy they cast to play Jeffery Epstein in A Very Royal Scandal has a eerie as hell resemblance. Great casting.

What’s really wild is that, according to this interview, apparently Harold Perrineau performed that scene entirely alone so he’s not even looking at any scene partners when he’s giving that performance. Just a crazy good actor.

Harold Perrineau Breaks Down Harrowing Scene in “From” Season 3 Premiere [Interview]

Also, this particular piece of that interview has my attention:

Perrineau also warns that this scene sets the tone for the entire season. “If I could give the town a red card and kick them out of the game, I would,” the actor says of the creatures this season. “It’s like a red card; that’s too far! It’s too far! You guys are out. You’re out of the game. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, it’s hurtful and heavy, but I think it’s all the stuff that the audience is going to really, really love. But it’s a nasty piece of business. It really, really is. It’s bad for Boyd, and it lasts the whole season. It’s nasty. That’s how I can describe it.”
I’m still sticking to my fan theory/hope that Tabitha spends the entire season trying to find her way back to her family, but when she finally does at the end of the season she finds that the passage of time has shifted in the town versus the outside world. So for her family and the people in the town, she’s been away for “years” and her kids are all grown up, husband’s with someone else now, etc. and now there’s some new terror to contend with that they’re all aware of and she’s not. Feel like that would be a fun setup for a fourth season.

oh wow that's super impressive of him! You can't even tell, he pulled off a super convincing performance as if she was there and he was witnessing it. It's cool he wants to stay in the dark as to the outcome of the series this quote really stood out to me:

“I want it to feel as immediate as all of the danger feels in the show.”

I like your theory! That would be a super good twist, and maybe we'll learn more about how/if time is wonky once she talks to his dad. That was a shocker too, there's gonna be some revelations for sure.

Yeah the reveal about Victor’s father had me asking a whole lot of questions. Threw me for a very big loop.

Also, I’m going down more interview rabbit holes and just came across this titillating quote from Perrineau as well:

“I don't think you realize how excited we are. Although we've gotten so accustomed to binge-watching shows, it feels good to get back to doing things weekly and digesting what we just watched.

I really love that. One of the really good reasons that we're going to do it for 10 weeks is — from the beginning — it's going to be heartbreaking, and you're going to need a week to recover from a couple of episodes. It's dark, man. This year is dark. There's one episode I'm never watching again in my life. I'm never watching. I'm not going to tell you which one, though...I told you, I'm going to play coy [laughs].”

Harold Perrineau On Season 3 "From" Episode He Won't Watch, And Reuniting With "The Best Man" Cast

Spinning out now thinking about what it could be he doesn’t want to watch again and wondering if maybe his son or Fatima and the baby are in danger.

Oh nooo lol. Man this season is gonna be intense from the sounds of it. And I'm all aboard. I really agree with him on being able to digest weekly episodes, I've missed that. I keep saying it but this is the first show in a while to give me the Lost vibes of discussing weekly about WTF IS GOING ON.
