Best new show in the last few years, easily

I can’t think of a single good thing to say about Severance.

Because I haven’t seen it. Oops.

glad you all enjoyed it but the last few episodes were straight up not good

BMF S3 just premiered. Already renewed for S4. People can say what they want about 50 Cent but he's been involved in some quality shows.

I completely disagree but can you expand on why you didn’t like them as opposed to just saying they weren’t good?

That’s such an interesting take because I thought the last three episodes were the only good ones for Severance.

The whole season was such a well crafted slow burn that exploded into that 2-episode finale that linked everything together, gave great reveals, left you hanging for season 2 and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entirety of the episodes. It's exactly what film makers wish to create and what viewers wish to have.

The final three episodes were great enough for me to trust it going forward and to be excited for it to come back. But I don’t feel like they needed as many slow burn episodes to get there. I like the show overall, but I’ve always been mildly surprised at how praised it is. Happy that it’s what people love, though.

funny how that works haha. for me there was enough to keep me engaged for the first 4-5 episodes - cool visual style, good acting, puzzling out exactly how the world of the show works - that I mostly found myself going along with it. as it went on it became reeeeally obvious that every episode was gonna follow the exact same formula (they go wandering, find some weird shit, get caught and people yell at them a lot and send them back to the office to do the same thing all over again) that I just started zoning out. didn't help that I found everything out in the "real world" intensely boring and that kinda grew in prominence throughout the season. I checked out entirely when the "dead wife is still alive!" twist happened, just very lazy and unengaging writing

there's enough good about it that I can kinda understand the acclaim but there's enough bad that I unfortunately can't hop on that bandwagon myself. like ultimately it doesn't feel like the show has anything to say beyond "exploitation bad", there's a lot of style to it but very little substance

The last episode of season 2 and the first 2 episodes of season 3 of the x-files are peak television.

  23. Started Reacher and just finished S1. Funny how Reacher is just the coolest cool guy there ever was, but I get that it's part of the show's charm, along with all the corny zingers ha. I'm enjoying it.

It kind of pisses me off Hulu doesn't livestream ABC's major live events. The fuck you mean I gotta get Hulu with Live TV to watch the Oscars? I just watched a livestream of the Grammys on normal ass Paramount+! Netflix just livestreamed the SAG Awards!
