Sorry, still thinking about “American Nightmare.”

The couple was obviously very unlucky with getting the worst investigators in the world and labeled by the press as hoaxsters. They also got tremendously lucky that the new detective wasn’t burned out, to the point where she devoted countless hours to the case.

Also, they were lucky the kidnapper was tremendously stupid. He could have easily gotten away with it without that letter and the second kidnapping. It really came off as him being tired of getting away with it and wanting to up the stakes, as well as maybe “prove” to Denise that he’s “actually a good guy.” But somehow, the Vallejo PD was even stupider.

I still want to know why he targeted the ex/how he knew her name. It seems weird that they even put her face in the doc when she really had nothing to do with the crime. She was just an old flame that the guy was still burning for/working with.

Also watched 2/3 of American Nightmare last night and it’s wild. Even more wild I live in Nor Cal and never heard of any of this

 

Continuing through my Netflix backlog and have been watching a lot of "hangout" movies. Minari, The Land of Steady Habits, Outside In, and The Lost Daughter. Good performances in all of them, but I particularly liked Minari and Outside In (RIP Lynn Shelton).

 

Just started the sopranos

I like all the noses. Real talk I enjoy this nose representation and didn't realize how much I always expect tiny lil button noses in media until now and it made me so happy. Strong nose gang rise up.

 

Omg who wouldn't wanna go to the plaza hotel for biscuits and tea tho??? Smh angsty teens. I would die for that tradition.

 

the movie is pretty terrible but i guess gillian didn't get to adapt that herself

 

Just finished season 2 of Killing It. I did not like how it ended at all.

 

Season 2 really lost me, I didn't really care for any of the storyline and while it was still funny for the most part, I just didn't care for what was happening

 

Watching the Netflix doc on the recording of We Are The World.

Oh my god the Stevie Wonder trying add in Swahili lines part lol "They don't speak Swahili in Ethiopia Stevie..."

I also feel bad for Sheila E being used like that

 

and Waylon Jennings taking off as soon as the Swahili stuff started being discussed. Hahaha

 

Man props to Lionel Richie. He hosted the AMAs, swept the AMAs, recorded and put together We Are The World in 24 hours. What a machine.

 

Man the writing is a little weak and corny at parts, but I am really enjoying The Brothers Sun

I loved Hijack, but... a second season feels unnecessary

 

That Hijack 2: Cruise Control joke I made months ago is going to end up becoming reality watch.

 

Because of that Greatest Night in Pop doc now I can't stop thinking how much cooler it would be if Prince showed up and he was doing that verse with MJ instead of Huey Lewis. Them being just like "ok I think Huey Lewis has the range to do Prince's part, get over here Huey" on the fly is crazy to me.

And no they didn't really explain why the fuck Dan Aykroyd was there besides that one of the producers wanted him for an unexplained reason.

 

Ghostbusters was huge at the time, and he sung in The Blues Brothers, so maybe it combo of those things? But yeah, they didn't really say much about him

 

Excited for that Dark Places series. That’s lowkey my favorite of Flynn’s books and the film adaptation was fucking abysmal

 

Hopefully its in the same vein as Sharp Objects series. I thought that was great.
