I’ve honestly never understood the hate for s1

 

It’s pretty bleak, so I get it. I’d have to rewatch the show to say for certain, but I feel like I remember kinda missing the primary focus being on Mapleton after season 1 ended

 

wild that a new season of Queer Eye and a Mike Judge Peacock show dropped with like no warning

 

feel like Leftovers s1 really kneecaps itself by following the book too slavishly. when it does its own thing (from what I understand the overall Kevin arc, the Matt, Nora specials and the flashback episode are all original) it shows signs of greatness. a lot of the rest really sucks, particularly everything with Tommy/Christine, a lot of Jill's dialogue, the whole Liv Tyler arc is so fucking boring

thank god someone on the staff realised eventually that casting actors like Ann Dowd and Amy Brenneman just to smoke cigarettes and not speak was stupid as hell. maybe that stuff works in the book idk, but onscreen it's absolute dead air

 

how is the John Cena/Efron Farrelly brothers movie going straight to streaming

 

Because whatever Amazon paid for streaming rights was more than their projected box office revenue, likely way more
