Just a reminder that Masters of the Air, the third in that WW2 series, is still supposed to come out on Apple TV+ this year. Though I’m sure it’s gonna get pushed to next year

Generation Kill is definitely more of a story of how US Marines survived incompetent idiotic leadership during the 2003 invasion than it is about surviving some epic battles, so don't know if it would even go in the same category as like a BoB or what the kind of series you want.

Watched a movie called Love at First Sight and we had huge 500 Days of Summer and Garden State vibes. Honestly they could make a dozen of these per year and I’d be down. Almost like non-holiday indie Hallmark movies. Soundtrack was super chill and something we plan on checking out. I mean it’s not going to win any awards but I felt like I got some value from my Netflix subscription for once.

Liking The Gold on Paramount+. A realistic heist story is refreshing, also nice to see the bulk of the story be the aftermath of the heist for once.

working my way through Mr. Robot. the first season proved to me that it is a slow-burn and the last few episodes really were incredible despite starting slow. now midway through s2, i'm a bit bored again. what are peoples' overall impressions of this show? is it worth sticking through? the performances are consistently great but I'm frequently wondering where it's all going.

  14. It’s my favorite show. Most people I know got bored or dropped off during season 2, but it’s very worth hanging in there - seasons 3 and 4 are the show’s better half

I’ll also point out that there are post credits scenes after each season finale that Prime will try to skip before you get to. They’re worth watching

I loved it, but s2 specifically I found frustrating because my man Tyrell is nowhere to be found for 90% of it. I’ve heard it works better as a binge. But s3 and s4 really pick up the pace and I think the journey is overall worth it.

Yeah I never made it to the final season of Mr. Robot either. Not because I didn't like it, but just kind of forgot about it.

kind of a hard show to binge IMO. it's dense and seems very methodical. my wife and I really loved the Fight Club-esque reveal and its aftermath in s1. the last few episodes of that season were damn good as the plot ramped up. it's taken a bit of nosedive with all the characters seemingly separated from one another. elliot's just going through a lot of psychological torment and it's well done but I'm kind of ready to move on. also a few character deaths that leave me scratching my head. feels a bit aimless rn, and my wife is struggling. I've had to convince her to keep going with me. but I did like the first season's big reveal enough to trust it'll eventually deliver more on that level.

I binged the first three seasons on my first viewing just in time to catch the last season live week to week. That time in the Mr. Robot thread and elsewhere online was great, the discussion was so much fun. It’s also the only show I’ve ever finished and rewatched in full again immediately

I get that people who bailed on the show can’t really know what they’re missing, but idk anyone that’s actually finished it and wasn’t satisfied

the only time it ever really lost me was the Craig Robinson arc in s2, that was definitely goofy. even so the Darlene arc that happens concurrently with that is phenomenal
