This is exactly how I felt watching free solo

 

Fuck it I'm starting Ray Donovan. Ima being living in the world of Hollywood fixers and their dysfunctional Irish Catholic families for the next few weeks.

 

Ray annoyed the shit out of me.

 

Just started Veep. Two episodes and I'm sold

 

I watched maybe 2 seasons of Ray it was fine.

 

Yeah, I watched it a few weeks ago and thought the same thing. Literally seeing one person irl come up out of the water the way they repeatedly do would be enough trauma for me to never even swim again lol. Obviously it’s a beautiful thing for people to find something in this world that they can connect with and brings them some peace, but once it turns into a sport where the measure of success is “haven’t died yet”, yeah, you gotta find something else man. Some cool shots though! That opening sequence was incredible and so, so tense

 

Threw my back out playing frisbee yesterday because I am one million years old, this was the perfect show to have on all day while wallowing on the couch. I hope Retta lives forever. She and Alison also have surprisingly great chemistry lol, I’ve seen some of Alison’s other stuff and she’s never that silly

I remember my mom watched it when I was still living at home but I still don’t think Ray Donovan is a real show

 

I thought this said Escape from Danganronpa and I was very confused

 

This reminds me of how apparently Outlander is very well liked by moms? There are generational target demographics for TV that we don't always remember/expect. Most of us on here are probably elder millennials who watched Breaking Bad as it aired

 

I also started Veep recently and it’s pretty amazing.

 

I watched the first season of veep last year and thought it was just okay. Never watched anymore though.

 

Sounds cliche but first season is the weakest and it’s gets soooo good with each new season.

 

Veep has a strong case for HBO’s best comedy

 

I’m partial to the McBride shows, but yeah.

I think I've watched the first episode of Veep maybe 3 times and never felt like following up... maybe it's time to change that.

 

Yeah like I imagine unless we start evolving with gills like... there's only so many records you can break? They could die literally each time they attempt another record. At least with other sports they have oxygen while they push to break records! I would've stopped after the one pro woman disappeared and her body was never recovered. But they were just like "she would've loved dying at sea doing what she loved" like umm she was probably out of oxygen and panicking or blacking out or something before she died but sure.

 

Revisiting a few of Arlene's BTAS episodes today

 

I probably rank Veep #1 tbh. It's so fucking good. Curb is great too of course.

HBO's main channel is doing something interesting tonight. They're playing the first episode of season 4 of Succession, the first episode of The Last Of Us, the Season 2 opener to White Lotus, and then the first episode of House of the Dragon. I guess trying to catch the channel flippers by chance and get them to start watching the shows or give someone who has already watched the itch to go binge the season(s) again.

 

Love Veep. I gotta do a rewatch

 

We're rewatching the earlier seasons of AHS, and man, this show used to be so much better than what it turned into. Even Hotel, which wasn't very well-received at the time, is waaaayyy better than the crap they've been spewing the last few years.

 

HBO officially cut. The consistency of quality isn't there anymore. I love winning time but its a short season so eh.
