hope that whenever neil goes many many years from now they put "you're all just pissin' in the wind" on his headstone
On Grief, Neil Young's Harvest, and Folk Music Really nice little article about Harvest. @Craig Manning I feel like you’d like this type of writing for sure.
I have been working my way through his discography (not necessarily in order) and loving it. After the Goldrush, Comes a Time, and On the Beach in particular.
Yes! Still letting that one (and Tonight's the Night) simmer. Love the opening track. Maybe I'll check out Zuma next.
Also, the new Alex G album sounds like Neil covering Counting Crows and produced by 100 gecs, so if that interests you, I highly, highly recommend
and you can follow it up with the Dume disc from Archives 2, for even more awesomeness from the sessions (and if you really want to go deep can dig into the Crazy Horse - Crazy Moon album tracks with Neil on guitar that were done around that time)
picked up like 50+ vinyls curbside today and it included Zuma After The Gold Rush Harvest Everybody Knows This is Nowhere what a score!
The funny thing about Zuma though is that it has a couple of his absolute-best songs ("Cortez" and "Danger Bird" obv) but also two of imo his worst ("Stupid Girl" and "Through My Sails" but I don't like CSNY so takes may vary about the latter)
