I'm a Dayton alum, so they are my number one team for college hoops. Butler is my close two since I grew up visiting Indy a lot and going to Hinkle Fieldhouse. That was a weird year when they were both in the A-10 haha.
I think it becomes pretty tight if they lose today. The AP and coaches polls have had us in the 25-31 spots most of the year. I'd like to think that keeps you in. There is only one really bad loss. The problem might be, that while they have won most of their A-10 games, they weren't really running away in those games. My fear is that if they lose today they become one of many teams with a good, not great resume. That being said, I am mostly hoping for no funny business in the remaining tournaments. Like, TCU is a problem when they beat KU, or Butler losing to XU (which is probably a different story). Having more really good teams relegated to the at-large pool will push UD down and that's just the reality. Luckily, they are starting this half well!
I thought we were solidly in a couple years ago and they made us a play-in game at UD, which caused a separate mess. I don't want to leave it to a bunch of suits if I can avoid it haha.
Davidson. That Gibbs guy was lit...as the kids say In a way this kinda hurts Rhode Islands bubble hopes. They're not going to get a chance to bear Dayton now. Idk if wins against St bonnie and Davidson does enough to impress
If you walk passed a bar with one lonely guy drinking by himself, crying, while '80s love/heartbreak ballads play a little too loudly, it's probably me still not getting over the UD loss.
okay just relooked at the numbers... dayton is so 100% not in trouble it's not funny. Sure they may have gotten themselves into an 8/9 game...instead of a 6 seed but yeah dont sweat it
You're probably right. That's not the point though. Davidson, is such a beatable team haha. As someone that weights the end of the year a lot more, it's just frustrating to go into the tourney playing pretty sloppy. Hopefully Archie has them ready next week. (presses resume on What About Love by Heart and sips whiskey)
The real loser is Rhode Island who now loses the opportunity to improve its resume and beat a good Dayton team. Probably gotta to win the autobid to make the tourney now.
maybe. but....i think going to the A-10 finals and losing to VCU gives them a shot. At this point, their resume is really "ok" and i think ok could make it. But yeah like, if there's bid stealing or what not, then yah URI would be in trouble.
Seton Hall hitting their stride again. I just hope the committee gives us a better seed this year than the hack job they gave us last year.
I am passing on watching the Blue Jackets for this Duke/UNC battle. Really gotta watch these teams closely as the tourney draws near. Edit: Not really worried about Nova. I don't have as many questions about them.
