38-22 rebounds. Zags had 5 offensive rebounds the whole game. Wtf. Gave Baylor almost 20 extra shots because of that. Either way, seemed like no one coulda beat Baylor last night. Well done.
to be fair, if there was one thing, they weren’t a great rebounding team all year and baylor was baylor averaged over 12 offensive boards a game and zags were under 10. part of that is that you get less rebounds when you make more shots and gonzaga’s offense was ridiculous all year but stuff like that definitely makes a difference
It looks like the zags averaged 40 rebounds per game. That doesn't seem terrible. Either way we're saying the same thing. If you get DOUBLED in rebounds you'll likely lose.
Baylor is the 8th best offensive rebounding team, grabbing 36% of their own misses this year. Gonzaga's offensive rebounding rate is 29.2 which was 131st in the country. Obviously, Gonzaga should be grabbing more than 4% of their misses in the game against Baylor, but they were up against an elite offensive rebounding team.
Ya'll wild. Could be a sign zags could've had better shot selection as well, don't you think? They're literally ranked 21 in rebounding in the country (which sounds better than "top 50" to me, haha) I don't know how or why you all are acting like this was easily predictable and expected Anyway, glad we got a tourny this year. Always fun to watch.
idk what site you’re looking at but they’re 66th on the literal NCAA’s website. and, yes, i said above that it could be due to them having the number one offense in the country. so yes i do think it could be because of that. that doesn’t mean the rebounding tracked with what you could have anticipated going into the game given how good at rebounding baylor is.
Mannn I was really pulling for gonzaga there. Its starting to become one of those of not now, then when. This was their best shot by far and they got blown out. Congrats to batlor though
margin is just showing you basically a +/- for rebounding. it doesn't surprise me they crushed the other WCC teams in rebounding. that doesn't mean they were great at it in terms of national teams.
I'm loving this new defacto college basketball free agency Although I can understand some of the fear a few people are saying about how great players from small programs will now change teams to bigger programs but hey...coaches do that all the time so
TyTy picked UK. Cant say I’m very high on him, though he has a huge following. But I also haven’t seen more than a few games.
would be pretty shocked if they’re even a sweet 16 team, let alone a natty team banchero seems dope but not like a do it your own guy. need to see more from keels and griffin. feels like a lesser version of the zion-cam-rj team that also wasn’t able to get it done
