There’s like 5 teams that could win the big 10 it’s so close at the top Maryland MSU Illinois Wisconsin Iowa but they are 1.5 out
Wisconsin has the easiest remaining schedule home vs Northwestern and road against Indiana if the Badgers win out they’ll own a share of the title
If that shot went down that place would've been destroyed. Powell was held in check, the big difference in that game
Nova definitely didn't allow Seton Hall to play their game. Gill was a non factor. I think the atmosphere in the arena had everyone playing a little too fast to start.
It's for all of the marbles on Saturday. Outright conference championship, 1 seed, etc. Seton hall...Creighton. I like our chances
Hyped for Uconn to return next year even though the American has been coming into it's own the last few years. Huge Uconn vs Houston game in Storrs tonight, Let's go Huskies!
Believe me the Basketball fans never wanted to see it happen at all. The move was all about Football and not Basketball related. There have been a lot of poor decisions from our Athletic Dept. since 2014 when we won our last basketball national title. I'm just happy about it because now the conference tourney will be at MSG every year again.
What's going to be interesting though and has been interesting is how irrelevant and non competitive uconns been in the american..and to see how they do in the big east now. Non Calhoun uconn. A struggle
We'll see about that - things are currently looking up. Have you heard about James Bouknight yet? I have high hopes for the rest of this season and the American Conference tourney. Also everyone seems to conveniently forget we won the NCAA in 2014 and the American Tourney in 2016.
UConn got deserted. Lol the most successful Big East team didn't want to leave the Big East. And I seem to recall their couple games against the Big East this year going down to the wire. Went to the game tonight, I've been to some good games at Gampel, this was far and away the best crowd I've been in. Ears are ringing. Psyched to see that Big East logo on the court next year. Bouknight is special.
I'm not even blaming anything on the American. Injuries and Ollie were the main issues. And I've never seen teams start a game flatter than his. By the end of his run at UConn idk if he even ran actual offensive plays. Also UConn were idiots for trying to make football happen. There was never some Calhoun/Auriemma magic happening trying to make it in collegiate football. Impossible.
I was a fan of Ollie. You don't win a NCAA title and an American Championship if you're a bad coach. The way UConn fired him and broke his contract is messed up and I want to see them make things right. The injuries have been insane since Gilbert's first shoulder injury. Gampel was electric last night, possibly the best game of the season and def. the biggest game of the season for this team. Happy to see CV & Gilbert to have a winning season finally and how about Whaley?!
UConn rejoining the big east is great from both perspectives. Attendance all around will be great and the old school big east feel comes back a little bit.
i was really enjoying the symmetry of the current big east. 10 Teams, everyone plays everyone. I'll say this. I really hope it doesn't go beyond 11. I really enjoy the home and home round robin.
I think Ollie did a good job in that tournament run but he had one of Calhoun's best backcourts to be fair. I agree UConn is super in the wrong trying to get out of paying him. Ollie's side has handled it about as badly as UConn has. But I agree on that point. Sampson said yesterday that Akok going out really opened it up for Whaley and even minus a player they're really a better team right now, Akok has great future potential. Excited for the tournament and I just want them to get some good experience to end the year and keep building. So on board with Hurley.
Yeah, hindsight is 20/20 of course because Akok was great and will hopefully come back strong but Whaley has really stepped up in his absence. I'm thinking about taking work off next Friday so I can watch the Conference tourney more closely haha.
