it basically puts it in a tough situation for MSU. do they risk it by playing him? based on what you posted, it's based on "knowledge of receipt". that could potentially mean they are fine (for this reason at least, as opposed to all the other shit izzo should be fucked by) if they sit him now. obviously we don't know all the details but it'll be very interesting to see what happens in the coming days/weeks i'm talking solely from a current laws perspective as opposed to what "should" be done
Zero chance that's the extent of it. I think the players should be paid large sums and have access to whatever benefits their abilities afford them but I'm weary of K's sanctimonious attitude towards the rest of the CBB recruiting world when he's involved in all the same stuff as Cal or Self
lol ok, so we're playing "hypothetical" games now where we just make up things. Source? Have you even read about what this is?
I think its naive to think that Duke is competing with and beating the Kentucky's and Kansas's of the world on the recruiting trail and not offering any of the things that those schools are offering. I also don't think it's a coincidence that Duke started getting into the one and done game right around the time they hired Jeff Capel as an assistant after he was fired from Oklahoma in the wake of Major NCAA violations.
So that's a double down on the "I have zero sources for the things I'm saying." Cool. Very cool. When there's something real, then I'll spend time talking about it, until then ...
anyhow point being, everybody does it. If UO were implicated it wouldn't surprise me one bit I just don't like when elite programs act like they're above it
The NCAA wrote in its public infractions report Friday that Taliaferro knew Gallon had received the impermissible benefit in August 2009 -- before the season started -- but failed to inform head coach Jeff Capel or other university administrators. By letting Gallon go ahead and play, it only compounded the issue. Capel was not implicated in the violations. He was fired in March. I mean, don't let facts get in the way or anything.
I didn't say that. But if your entire argument is "well everyone does shit so I don't have to back up my assertions" you have literally no case. It's just a ridiculous logical fallacy and embarrassing.
Person did something bad. What did they do? Well everyone does something bad so they did too. What did they do? Sarcasm: So you're saying they are perfectly clean and could never do something wrong? Get the fuck out of here.
It's not ridiculous to assume his hands are dirty. And what's embarrassing is trying to talk yourself into believing he's innocent.
I didn't say he's "innocent," I said "show me." This is very easy to follow. You won't even make an actual accusation. Come the fuck on. Your entire argument is based on literally nothing you can point to. You know this is a horrible argument but you're making it ... why?
Michigan State has dressed a walk on freshman accused of sexually assaulting a female student, the case being passed to the police because MSU campus police thought it was serious enough to warrant investigation. I think MSU is going to keep playing bridges since they basically don’t give a fuck about rules or the law or have any sort of moral standing as an institution at all anymore (or ever?)
thing is, as gross as it is, this to them is more cut and dry when it comes to eligibility. are there technically ncaa rules about eligibility when it comes to "alleged" assault? as opposed to just, institutional neglect
Oh for sure. Just pretty disgusted with MSU as a whole and more disgusted hearing people around town here defend them. So I like to slam them when I can.
I love how nearly everyone is in agreement that the NCAA is a complete joke at worst and a deeply flawed organization at best, but when it comes to teams actually getting punished for things (and lets be clear here, every single Division I school is breaking one rule or another as laid down by the NCAA, as stupid as 99% of those rules are), everyone suddenly wants to point fingers and be like, "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET DUKE!" or "SERVES YOU RIGHT, KENTUCKY!"
Most insulting part of this story is that espn showed a graphic of notable players and teams identified in this "scandal" and Seton Hall didn't make that list (they ARE involved with Isiah Whitehead) :( we are not notable
