I would think something happens with Allen. As good as he is, Duke doesn't need him to win a game or two. Given the history and roster, it's a pretty easy move to make.
They might miss him against V Tech but they could suspend him for three games and be fine. "Indefinite suspension" sounds like "suspension until the media forgets about this"
