I don't want to get carried away over here, but if the quality of the first episode is indicative of the rest of the season, this could give Ted Lasso a run for its money for "show of the year"

I..... I dunno about this one. I feel like it was closer to terrible than good, some mildly interesting found footage and minimal actual interactions. Kinda failing to understand the draw

    Steve!!!

  22. Unless the next episode is a huge step up from this first one, I gotta agree with Steve. There were a few laughs but it was mostly just kinda boring to me. It would have been better if the people he talked to were just a little eccentric or something, I think. I dunno. But I’m definitely going to keep watching because I imagine the show will getter as it goes. At least I hope so.

Also, Ted Lasso will never be beat! Haha

If he talked to only eccentrics (and I believe he gets some characters in later eps based on reviews), I think the entire point of the show would be lost. You aren’t supposed to laugh at these people.

This show is like if NFY was hosted by Joe Pera.

No. I can't let you get away with that, this is NOTHING like NFY other than except tonally. NFY is all about the interactions with real humans, helping them out, seeing who they are and what they care about, really digging into the human experience in a shockingly real way.

This show has about 5 minutes of that with the spring break bro, and that's really just an interview where he gets vulnerable. This show is not like if he hosted NFY, that would be an entirely different show than the episode we just watched.
