Guys... guys... I don't think you realize. My heart dropped the second this episode started. This happened because of me. I am serious, that fucking DVD commentary that we had Nathan do with Bill for our DVD set... that is THE set that I worked on, if that commentary didn't happen, this whole episode may have never existed. I'm honestly floored, haha. What an amazing piece of televison holy shit
He played the dvd commentary at the live previews to sort of give people a hint at the basis for the episode.
I was genuinely terrified about what was going to happen with Bill during parts of this episode. the long shots of the car driving with that music behind it just felt like a true crime documentary, and with Bill slowly revealing himself as a monster... honestly floored
Wow what an episode. Legitimately thought this was a masterpiece and possibly the best thing Nathan has ever done. Bill is a creep, and thats not at all surprising. The entire premise of the episode was insane to begin with, it was pretty obvious that there would be a whole lot wrong with it. Bill envisioned this fairytale story for what, 60 years? He completely failed to see it from any other direction and it drove him to this point. I'm glad they did the call rather than the door. After all that, Bill finally is able to move past it, though his interaction with June was not so promising. I found the Maci story to be the best parts of the episode, and I'm very excited for the episode in 60 years where Nathan tries to find his long lost love that he should have married, but decided not to because he wanted the fame and was doing it all for the cameras. I'm genuinely curious about what type of relationship they actually have though.
omg. there are 200-250 posts since 9 last night. not reading 'em, but i'm so excited to watch the finale tonight.
I keep cracking up thinking about the Age Progression Specialist bringing two printers. And “I’m a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas”. And Donald H Trump.
This episode was just unbelievable. The editing is so crucial to this show in every episode but this one really highlighted how good it is - constantly framing Bill in a questionable light, making the audience question his entire story (and slipping in his pro-Trump point of view at vital moments). There was some peak NFY cringe and the Maci storyline was really good too. Love love loved it. I really regret not being able to watch it live, would have loved to live react along with this thread. If this ends up being the last episode of the series for whatever reason, it was an absolutely perfect episode to go out on. I sure as hell hope we get more though.
We don't have the space to film here for most things we do it at offsite studios. And Nathan actually took the initiative to record it himself (happens sometimes, but is always cool when we can save some of our money) so I don't think anyone from here went.
Nathan For You, a Great Show, Should End Tonight I completely disagree with this article. Season 4 might be my favorite season.
From the headline I thought the jist was going to be “he should quit while he’s still ahead” but instead it was “this season wasn’t very good so he should quit now” which is EH! WRONG!
