    This is lovely.

Edit: Just when I thought the last few songs might run together for me, I hit "Far From You" and am just bowled away. (I get that it doesn't really fit on the record, but I'm happy it's there)

    I was right. Prestigious

I’m listening to this while very stoned for the first time and Nothing To Say is destroying me

I like played her first album and thought it was fine but never went back to it and can't really remember it. This album was so much more striking and hit me immediately.

If I had to guess I'd say her songwriting has always been strong but musically she went up a huge level.

Her first album blew me away from a vocal and production perspective, but I do understand how it’s hard to come back to for some. This one has blown me away in terms of vocals, production, instrumentation, songwriting, vibe, soul, groove, and whatever the hell else.

  12. Last one was instrumentally impressive and the arrangements were pretty but it’s just simply not the “type” of music I really want to throw on very often, if at all. It’s like listening to a musical or something — recognize the talent but it doesn’t have much of a place in my listening habits.

There are hints of it on this one, with Hot For The Mountain and Far From You, but on the whole you can just tell there were different influences on the forefront of her arrangements this time around and it’s way groovier

weird, I think s/t had more impressive arrangements but I can see why people would favor the songwriting here

I still love her debut so much. But comparing album to album, while there is a lot to be impressed by on her s/t, I feel like the record has a whole feels kind of flat and not quite as beefed up. For some, that might not even be a negative. I don’t even dislike the album for it, but I fell immediately in love with this album, whereas I warmed up to her debut over time.

  15. I loved how Joni Mitchell-y the debut was, but I definitely prefer the new one. It feels like she really came into her own and it sounds more like "her" for a lack of better words.
