Few directors vary in quality as much as Scott. In the same year he released The Last Duel and House of Gucci.

 

The Last Duel was very good and I thought Gucci was ok for the most part

 

This is gonna be so good (both theatrical and 4 hour cut) The Last Duel was one of my favorites of 2021 and had a fun time with House of Gucci when I watched it on a plane.

It is perfectly fine for art to deviate from the real history, but the idea that you have to be there to know what happened is dumb.

I laughed a lot. Practically all of the dialogue only scenes with JP had me chuckling.

Thought the action scenes were astounding

 

This felt like reading a history textbook with posted notes to Josephine stuck between the pages. No drama, no tension, nothing to say. I'd say no pizazz but he did shoot the pyramid with a cannon; one pizazz in 2 and half hours. The interviews going off at history critics were more compelling than the film, take that energy to the script and the camera next time not just the set pieces, give us Inglorious Bastards Napoleon style.

I liked when Napoleon went through his silly goose phase.
