Beyond stoked for new Nada Surf!

 

Spoken word bits were cool - felt like a callback to “Popular”. I like the synths too, good song. I love this band dearly but they needed to shake things up

Nada Surf is one of my all time favorite bands, but most of their albums have always had to grow on me, especially You Know Who You Are. I just finished my first listen through the new album - Never Not Together.

It is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. I got so many chills I lost count of the moments. After one listen, I would put this in the vein of The Weight Is A Gift, but the writing is tighter and more meticulous. They try some new stuff on this album while throwing in their signature sounds. They pulled it off. The album is only 9 tracks, but that's enough for them to take you on their 43 minute journey.

I still remember when Popular came out. I am a casual Nada Surf listener, and should probably give this a listen soon.

 

I’ve never really listened to this band before, but this album is awesome.

 

Go listen to Lucky and The Weight is a Gift, like, yesterday

 

I have always loved their debut (my sister had the CD when it came out) but a few years ago I delved into their other albums. They've matured and evolved quite well imo. Love almost all their material.

 

They have so much good material. You're in for a treat.

 

Let's not forget Let Go and The Proximity Effect ;)

what's the consensus best nada surf album? let go or weight is a gift?

 

Weight Is A Gift for me. Lots of good memories with it.

Also, not bc it’s their new album and it’s still fresh, but I LOVE Never Not Together. I think it encompasses the best parts of this band in one album.
