Charlotte Nicdao on the future of Mythic Quest and the season 2 finale great interview with some fun tidbits (Rob improvised the line asking Poppy to sing "Rainbow Connection"). but also even Charlotte doesn't seem sure s3 is gonna happen and we're a few days out from the finale... I'm honestly worrying lol
Every character is great. I sometimes get community vibes from the show, and that’s one of the ways in which i do - a large ensemble cast where everyone feels fleshed out and interesting. Would love to see Jo/most characters get the CW treatment backstory ep in a future season. When she air quotes “my “family back home””, i lost it.
really great finale. Ian and Poppy is the best platonic relationship on TV the storyline with Zack felt a bit underserved tho
where the hell does it go from here? Felt like the tester storyline gets a bit muddled since Ian and Poppy gave the contract and then left lol. Gonna be weird if they continue this with all of the characters in different places.
either this is the series finale and they're going out on the bittersweet Halt and Catch Fire vibe, or next season starts with a fairly big timeskip and everyone reconvening to work on Hera, I'm thinking?
I wasn't fully enamored with this season but it did have some great moments. If there's a third season I hope they have less jokes about cancel culture and how it's bad to say p*ssy now.
Yeah, they filter weird jokes through Ian sometimes that i wish weren’t there. I get that he’s supposed to be a douch-y tech guy. For some reason it bothers me less when CW is out of touch gross guy.
They definitely threw some Sunny in here with Poppy and Ian screaming at people. Watching Poppy become an asshole with no consequences wasn't really very fun
I mean... Ian is kind of a bad boss, and when Poppy was put in a position of power by him she exhibited a lot of the same bad traits he did because that's what she'd been taught to do. I honestly thought it was a realistic choice that was a bit more interesting than Poppy being a great boss as well as a genius programmer and everything else. and the balancing act to show that while still making Ian/Poppy likable as people was really, really nicely done - I don't know if they'd have pulled it off if every actor on this show wasn't goddamn fucking fantastic
my main critique is with how sweet and caring ian was for poppy in the quarantine ep, it seemed odd to have them kinda rivals again for the whole season almost seemed like an episode that wasn’t canon
I wish there was more Sue. But understand that she’s on a network sitcom which probably pays way better.
