Yeah, to me Entombed is— and this is not to speak poorly of any of the other tracks on this album, which all are great— the best song on this album by a LOT

I feel bad voting against Entombed both times, but it’s gone up against literally the only two songs on the album I’d put above it.

Hey everybody, I know it's not for a little while but I wanted to see if I could get some input regarding the upcoming b-sides bracket. It'll take place after the bracket for Gore.

My plan is for the round to only be the b-sides of original material (i.e. no covers, acoustic versions, remixes, live versions, demos, or unreleased tracks).

According to the source of all things (Wikipedia) there are 7 b-sides of original material:

1) Can't Even Breathe
2) Teething
3) The Boy's Republic
4) Crenshaw Punch / I'll Throw Rocks at You
5) Lovers
6) Black Moon
7) Teenager (Idiot Version)

The Boy's Republic has already been a part of the White Pony bracket, so I think we'd just have a small bracket with the other 6 songs.

Does this sound good to everyone? Am I missing anything important?

I know that a lot of times the participation is down a fair amount during b-side rounds, so I plan to move it pretty quickly with rounds in the 6-8 hour range.

 

Rosemary officially the most underrated track in their discog, full stop. Best musical track they've ever written, close to the best lyrics, and the outro (+Goon intro) is like a whole separate A+ song... loses first round.

As for B sides, I literally don’t see any of those except Lovers winning so how bout we all agree to vote that one through right now

 

The other thing I could do is have the Gore and b-sides bracket going at the same time and people can just post their votes at the same time. I don't really think it'd make things any more difficult and that way we could go right from Gore to the Wild Card round. And people wouldn't have to vote for b-sides if they didn't want to.

 

There are couple of those B-sides I haven't even heard but yeah Lovers pretty much takes it by default.

 

It’s not my pick for their absolute best song but otherwise I can probably get behind this. It’s definitely the best song on this album imo.

 

Yeah "best by a lot" applies to Rosemary more than my favorite on any other of their records... I'd take the outro by itself over half the other songs. I'd think best lyrics on KNY is pretty much indisputable. Music wise I guess a big chunk of fans just approach this band differently than me, since most of the winning songs on the other LPs so far aren't even close to my first picks.

 

Hey @bachna84 , can we add in Smile? See what people think after they google that song and listen to it. A lost gem and what I believe is one of the last few songs that Chi had a part of writing in.

The more I think about it, having the b-sides bracket running at the same time as the Gore one seems like it could be a bit of a mess. Let's scrap that idea :)

 

Yeah when I did one for B-Sides I did a one rounder and let the favorite be a part of the last bracket.

 

I think that's a pretty good plan
