Beware (there won't be an easier decision in the whole thing. Beware's fantastic, Mein's pretty bad. Although Abe's great in it.) Hole In The Earth Rapture Kimdracula
I listened to this album last night and again this morning and I have several thoughts... 1) I'm bummed that I've never seen any of these songs live. I've only seen them twice (both times post-Saturday Night Wrist) but they didn't play anything from this album either time. 2) Pink Cellphone would be so much better if it just ended prior to the last minute of the song. 3) The matchups this round were pretty easy for me other than Hole In The Earth vs. Combat which is close to a toss up for me. 4) I really like this album, but it'd be tough for me to put it in the top half of their discography. White Pony, Diamond Eyes, and S/T are probably my three favorite (in that order) and Around The Fur is likely next. I guess that just speaks as to how strong their discography is!
Beware Combat Rapture Kimdracula Last one was actually kinda tough for me. I like Rats!Rats!Rats! quite a bit, but overal Kimdracula feels like the more cohesive/coherent of the two.
Hole in the Earth vs. Combat was easily the toughest matchup this round. I just love Combat's intro so much, especially when Abe comes in.
Hole in the Earth was a big reason i became a fan of this band. It was played quite a bit on the radio near me back when i used to actually listen to the radio
Beware (but let it be know that I like Mein) Hole in the Earth (this one killed me, two of my absolute favorite Deftones songs) Pink Cellphone (I like the coda, but also that shit is ENTIRELY skippable! Or just but the clean version, same difference) Rats!Rats!Rats! (both super underrated cuts, but this one moreso)
This is probably more for the regular thread, but whatever. I’m listening to Gore right now...it’s so damn good. Their recent run with Diamond Eyes, Koi and Gore is pretty perfect.
Beware Hole In The Earth - this was a tough one, combats an awesome track Rapture Kimdracula - bloody love this track, especially that underlying guitar riff throughout
