My Own Bracket (Shove It) Bracket

Beginning 8-20-18



We'll have 10 rounds (beginning with Adrenaline) leading up to a championship bracket.

The 10 rounds will be:

1) Adrenaline
2) Around The Fur
3) White Pony
4) Deftones
5) Saturday Night Wrist
6) Diamond Eyes
7) Koi No Yokan
8) Gore
9) B-Sides
10) Wild Card (the runners-up from the 8 album brackets)

A few other items to touch on...

Bonus tracks will be included in the album bracket that they are a part of. For example, The Boy's Republic will be included in the White Pony bracket since it was a limited edition bonus track. On the other hand, Teething, for example, will be a part of the B-sides bracket since it's an original Deftones song that is not on any of their studio albums.

Also, I have done some thinking on the subject of cover songs and have decided NOT to include them in this bracket. They have so many cover songs that a round of covers would likely take at least 4 or 5 days, and from past bracket experience, I think it's likely to have little participation and slow the momentum of the bracket. IF there is enough interest in including the cover songs, we could do that after the championship bracket. That way anyone not interested in the covers, could just duck out. Yes, that would mean that a cover song wouldn't be capable of winning the overall bracket, but let's be honest - that wasn't going to happen in the first place.

Lastly, I envision each round lasting a full 24 hours and keeping rounds open for 48 hours during the weekend. Typically the site is a bit slower on weekends, so hopefully that gives people enough time to get their picks in.

I don’t think it takes much effort at all to keep up, especially if you’re a regular poster on the site. Generally they gave me more incentive to check the forums. Running a bracket is much more taxing than participating imo.

Same. Will be pulling for "Be Quiet And Drive" to win Around The Fur, even if I dont really care much for their first 2 albums.

 

Yeah I honestly don't know Adrenaline well enough to have many firm opinions about it, but this might encourage me to give it a proper listen sometime. Last time I heard it it just sounded so dated compared to everything else they've made.

 

Production is dated as fuck. Songs are killer.

 

They haven’t been in Cleveland in the last 8 years, but last time I saw them here they closed with 4 Adrenaline songs! It was awesome.
