1. Live Vol. 2 is out now. Haven’t had time to sit down with my record but sampled a few tracks on streaming and it appears to be as high quality as we’ve come to expect.

2. Five days until MMJ Halloween show in Louisville and I’m starting to get very very excited. I don’t usually dress up but feel like I gotta do something, especially since I’ll be in the GA floor section…

 

Got my copy of Live Vol. 2 on wax other day after I had preordered. Excited to spin!

I’m just now getting into these guys. Gave them a shot after I saw Cedric bixler propose a TMV tour with them. Great stuff. Only been jamming Z and the recent self titled. What’s essential?

I mean, that's a joke, but also I do think so. It Still Moves is absolutely essential. Make sure you check it out.

 

Saw their last album at Walmart an hour or so ago for $15. Blasting it on the turntable now!

 

At Dawn is also great, don’t sleep on it.

 

Also, I've always kinda felt like Okonokos is a great place to start - amazing sound quality and an absolutely all-time killer performance and you get songs from throughout all of their albums up to that point.

Dude from MMJ commented on some post he made about Volta merch and Cedric just replied something like “MMJ/TMV 2023?”

 

It Still Moves is their best album but everything up through Evil Urges is essential. And listen to as much of their live stuff as you can get your hands on

 

They're one of the two or three best bands of the last 30 years, welcome to the table

 

All of this talk had me listen to the self-titled album on my drive home from work. I probably haven't listened to it in about two months. God damn if it isn't a solid hour of magical gloriousness. Even the 10-minute song that talks about Sephora and Stranger Things right in the middle.

I love these guys.

these shows are absolutely LEGENDARY in MMJ circles, wasn’t there myself but a lot of longtime heads swear these are among their absolute best performances. Been rumors of a release for years so glad they’re finally public

I think you can do a free trial of Nugs’ streaming option too, or at least you could at one point. I subscribe tho and it’s absolutely worth it if you like listening to live music
