Also smh I will not let them get my hopes up but kinda cause I let it happen every time

 

Omg am I the only one who voted for sing? I dislike both those songs but with Sing I can dramatically pause and say "keep running!"

Yeah that's messed up. Not every lead singer needs to be a cliche.

 

I will have to listen to the songs before voting. I haven't listened to that album for a looooong time.

 

I'm listening to Conventional Weapons as if it were an album for I think the first time (I've only ever just randomly listened to these songs in the pairs they were released in). Should be interesting. I also threw Fake Your Death at the end.

 

I'll say there's no chance at all that tweet is about an MCR reunion.

 

Summertime is the best Cure song that they never wrote.

Also, I'm upset that three people voted against Kids but I'll get over it.

 

Yea I just watched that video again and it's not MCR. The only thing even remotely suggesting that is the cross, which is really just a cross in a graveyard. Also it doesn't fit the aesthetic that I assume their reunion would go for (it feels too cartoony). Definitely seems more the Misfits style of horror-punk. Kind of think it'll be unrelated to any of that though.

 

Yea I've never given these songs nearly enough attention I'm realizing. I tend to just not listen to many EPs/singles that don't get released as part of a whole album (for any band), because I just prefer listening to albums so I don't even think about them often. This is definitely making me appreciate these songs more. I kind of get why they were scrapped - they're not "big" enough to be a follow up to something as massive as the Black Parade, but I'm definitely glad they were still released. Kind of understanding more why the band needed to break up. It has to be so daunting to feel like every album has to not just be an album but basically a fully fleshed out world/narrative.

 

Woah I didn't even know he'd gained weight because he never posts photos of himself on instagram so I definitely didn't mean it like that. My bad, "in shape" was a poor choice of words. I just meant since he hasn't played a show in almost two years it would take awhile to get back to performing level vocally, since Frank's been touring nonstop with his stuff I figured he'd be the only one ready for anything.

 

Kiss the Ring wow what a good song. Definitely started paying less attention to each of the Conventional Weapons releases as they were coming out. The last two releases I probably have only listened to a handful of times each, so Kiss the Ring felt like a new song to me. Make Room is fun just to hear what was basically a really early version of Na Na Na (I do remember listening to that one before though).

 

Wow wow Burn Bright! I have been missing out for sure what's wrong with me. They really do feel like a nice batch of releases for the band to go out on, because they kind of feel like a combo of everything they had done.

 

Burn Bright is such a great song.

Also, does anyone have a good tracklist for all of the CW releases? I can never really nail one down that I'm satisfied with.

Honestly, this just made me remember how average I think 50% of this album is, and how not a single song on it would make my top 10 MCR tracks.

 

Also I suspect that Rock Sound tweet is more like they have an interview with Gerard or something maybe. Or perhaps they're just using the MCR imagery as a promotional tool.

EDIT: Actually, it might be that he's on their podcast.

 

Also side note, I will attempt to take actually wait a while before holding any more of these after MCR. I will stick to my original deal though that if Story Of The Year drops 'Wolves' before years end I will do one for them

But yes. SOTY is the next one, and will only happen if Wolves is to come out this year

 

Speaking of which, @BTDandFeelingThis is such a good friend/SOTY fan that he preordered me their new album for my birthday and I've never even heard them before haha
