Ok everyone yeah we are calling a Run rule. This is the score: Totals: I Don't Love You - 14 Cancer - 5 Kill All Your Friends - 2 This Is How I Disappear - 16 Sleep - 3 Welcome To The Black Parade - 16 Disenchanted - 3 Famous Last Words - 16 As you can see, EVERY match is a clear winner. It would take more than our average votes to make a difference all voting for the losing Songs. So with that, your final four are: ROUND 3 I Don't Love You Vs This Is How I Dissapear Welcome To The Black Parade Vs. Famous Last Words Begin!!
This Is How I Dissapear Welcome to the Black Parade choice one was super easy, one of my favorites on the album. I played that song to death when i was younger, that idea of identity being tied to something external was really interesting to me, even if i couldn't articulate it. I think when you're young (and i am by no means old, but i mean like. going through puberty and shit) themes of identity are just super compelling but they don't get any less so since as you get older you realize how messy and complex it can get. it's a simplistic way of tackling that, sure, but i love that it leaves room for it to be about anyone. I don't even know if i can even explain why i picked one over the other -- they're both incredible songs and two of my favorites -- but it's just. this song is representative of the band to me. for better or worse, this is the first song i think of when i think of them (that or im not okay), and i dont know if really anything can fight against something that pervasive. also the song kicks ass
I Don't Love You - any song that was part of my middle/high school "I feel really sad tonight so I'm going to listen to this group of sad songs to make myself even sadder" playlist automatically gets a lot of love from me. Famous Last Words - The two powerhouses pitted against each other. Famous Last Words is such a fitting end to the album, and I like the shifts it makes better. Coming out of the chorus into the 2nd verse is one of my favorite parts on the album, and then out of the bridge back into the chorus, and then layering the bridge and chorus. It's tough, and I get why Black Parade is the more iconic song, but Famous Last Words is pretty much perfect in every way.
Currently I Dont Love You-3 This Is How I Disappear-6 Welcome To The Black Parade-2 Famous Last Words-7
The last round was called before I voted so I do not feel as invested in this round tbh!!! Also idk I honestly can't choose between famous last words and welcome to the black parade. Also singles win a lot. And I like How I Disappear but I'd never have pegged it to make it farther than some other songs but I guess it kinda comes down to what it's up against.
This is definitely the most singles driven bracket I've been a part of. I think some of these songs were just so inescapable that it's hard to vote against them. I know for me a lot of these MCR songs were some of my first introductions to rock music and especially to heavier music.
I think they also did a pretty good job of choosing singles too so I'm not surprised, but their album cuts are sooo good too! They have a lot to choose from
This Is How I Disappear Famous Last Words Which is interesting because How I Disappear is prob bottom 5 for me, but so is I Don't Love You so that part is a weakish round for me, espesh so close to the final. As weak as something can be when u love the entire album.
Agreed! There's endless good material here. I think Danger Days will be interesting because there's a lot more divided opinions and the singles will definitely not be the winners.
