I enjoy Bullets for what it is - a debut album, but the gap in musicianship from that to 3 cheers is pretty remarkable. Our Lady of Sorrows is a certified banger though. I still go back to that one occasionally.
To me, Black Parade is the clear #1, the most “iconic” or whatever, the most quintessential and fully realized version of the band’s strengths. And, Danger Days is my second favorite and one that I’d rather listen to than Parade if I’m in a certain mood. And it rules that the comic tie-ins are drawn by Becky Cloonan and Leonardo Romero. Such cool shit.
I rarely post in this thread, so I’m not as acclimated to people’s weirdly strong takes and bits as I am, say, for TBS. All I know is the thread sometimes gets bumped for a meaningless reason & then people get annoyed it’s not news about new music.
it's the only MCR album i like. i like how raw it is. the end of early sunsets when he sings "and theres's no room in this hell, there's no room in the next" and that whole part was bone chilling the first time i heard it.
my birthday was monday so i've been waking up in dumpsters and out of it for the week. i'm more mentally aware now though for the next few minutes, haha.
