At least the Turnstile hoodie is produced entirely in America. I’d bet the MCR one is whitelabeled third world garbage. …can’t wait to buy one.
Just went to check ticket prices for a few shows and they still have the queueing system on for Ticketmaster. I don't know that I've ever seen that for a concert ~8 hours after on sale, especially when the only sold out sections were the pits/GA.
I saw silent planet and invent animate a couple nights ago and hoodies were 70. I get inflation exists and all that but it’s been interesting to see band clothing go from costing less than the average shirt/hoodie to about twice as much, almost regardless of how big the band is. I guess it makes sense, still wild to see though. My merch purchasing has plummeted so I’m surprised it’s apparently still worth it to charge this much, at least for smaller bands with less fans.
At the recent NIN tour in the UK, they were selling one colour print hoodies for £100 (which converts to roughly $135). It was their classic logo on the front and then the tour dates on the back. Honestly couldn't believe it.
I’m planning on going to Detroit but yeah those initial prices are idiotic and the band definitely deserves a lot of side eyes for not turning off platinum/dynamic pricing. GA sold out here but plenty of seats still open. I’ll wait to day of/day before for prices to fall.
I was looking an hour or so after they went on sale and lotta the lower level was available but all the 300s section selling for 110 were all scooped up. So it’s pretty apparent lotta the demographic is priced out at the current pricing
I'm no Ticketmaster stan but it boggles my mind that people don't realize the ticket price is set by the BAND AND MANAGEMENT. Ticket price goes to paying the artist fee. Ticketmaster keeps a portion of the service fees.
I think artists love that we direct all our anger at Ticketmaster (who absolutely sucks) and they're happy to keep scapegoating them so ppl don't turn on the artists. No reason for artists who are millionaires to be doing this. I'm also speaking generally as a vent sesh related to the last few posts here I didn't try to get tickets and haven't read anything about those who did yet. But they were guilty on the last few tours I did get tickets for!!
There is a big theatrical element to the show that I think justifies spending up to around $200ish , not uncommon for a decent seat for a broadway show…but when we get to the 400-800 range nahhhhh
MCR been charging cash grab prices for a while, no point anyone trying to justify it. They could make sure their fans were getting value and it’s a decision that they’re not.
I don't think Ticketmaster actively is involved in pricing discussions. That's all band, management and promoter. The price has to do with the hefty fee MCR commands which, in turn, pays for all that production. These prices will likely drop too if the shows aren't selling.
I feel like they got blowback from the first leg of dates since it was right after The Cure did dedicated cheap tickets through Ticketmaster. Apparently not nearly enough to make an impression.
I caved and got tickets for the day of the 20th anniversary in LA. Still hoping to get cheap tickets for San Diego closer to the show
The fact that this second leg is taking up like most of 2026 indicates to me that they have no intentions of releasing one anytime soon
