The whole show was amazing, had goosebumps the entire time and really enjoyed myself. Definitely was surprised they did the whole encore at the B stage but man that ruled especially seeing them play Heaven Help Us. Just a heads up that getting merch was kind of a nightmare but that's just me being annoyed that I spent over 2 hours in line for the outside merch truck and then had to bail so I didn't miss any of the music.
In 3 years they came up with a slightly extended version on Mama and felt that was post worthy lol table scraps
It will be exciting to see what subtle changes are made to their live show through cryptic posting on social media over these next however many years lmao. There certainly is a disconnect from fans who still see these cryptic messages on social media and think it means something. I think a lot of fans are still expecting MCR as artists to make new art, but if anything these last six years have shown that the revival of MCR has had more of a capitalistic focus than it has a continuation of an artistic one. They should absolutely be making $$$ off of that art, but their lack of self-awareness opens the door to valid criticism. And they should absolutely have the piss taken every time they do something like this. If Tom Delonge can get it, so can they. I think they actually will release new music one day once people wear tired of legacy concerts from them. It might just be a one off song to drum up ticket sales, but eventually the cryptic messages will mean something (maybe).
I maintain that fans set themselves up for failure. This tour was specifically to celebrate The Black Parade, and you'd think after being let down so many times people would start to understand to take what they do at direct face value: if it's posted before the tour, it's going to have to do with the tour. Maybe that's my cynicism talking, I don't know.
No I think you are very correct, and it's okay to hope that there's a little bit of extra but to blame the band when it's you that set up that hope is kinda (really) silly
