I am enjoying this, think the mix really elevates some parts of songs that were lost in the original. Now, I will say that the original mix is so familiar to me that this new one really did throw me off in some parts, but I can appreciate what they did. I think I can equally enjoy both of them separately, though the original in its intention and my nostalgia are still superior to me.

 

What parts are specifically jarring for you?

 

Wait so why did they do this? Album’s a widely acknowledged classic, did they make some statement about how they’re unhappy with the mix?

 

Why not?

 

Not many bands spend time doing things like this and it isn’t an even numbered anniversary.

Uh this is done all the time. How many mixes have the Beatles gone through?

 

It was the 20th last year, they could have planned it for that and just not got it done in time? haha.

 

Yes those are roughly the same thing requiring equivalent levels of time and effort

 

I feel like an idiot, but I've listened to a few of the songs and don't notice much of a difference (granted I'm not as well versed on this album). Not to say there isn't though.

I'm actually really enjoying this. Haven't really spun this album in a long time so that could be part of it.

 

A great reminder of how incredible this album is — and how much I loved it back in the day. Really digging the new mix

I was listening to the remixed/remastered version of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge on the way home from work and it's so much better than the original version!
