Can someone tell me I'm not hearing things and that there's some really faint voice speaking around 0:45-0:49 of Not Okay remix?

 

yeah there’s like a vocal stacking thing going on there

 

But it's not following what he's saying, it's something around "jumping" and "second", some other like two syllable sounds.

I can understand being fond of the original mix, or having nostalgia for it but man IMO the new mix sounds so much better. these songs were buried under a tinny loudness war compressed bullshit mix originally, the new ones fucking rip. you hear so much more detail and the drums/guitars/bass sound so much better

 

If anything, you'd do that with the original loudness war'd mix

I don't think it's controversial to say that the original mix was compressed sounding. The new one is pretty loud too, but it's loud in a way that you're not losing detail, imo. idk. I'm not an audio engineer! I just like it!

 

I love MCR. Three Cheers is one of my all-time favorite albums. I have no absolutely desire to listen to a new mix.

 

Kick drum sounds so much better.

 

It is controversial in here heh I basically said the same thing about the album a couple years ago and nobody agreed with me. So, hey! Glad to meet a fellow person who was itching for a new mix! Haha.

 

Damn, sucks it was removed.

I will say, after diving into it a bit, I do have mixed feelings. On one hand, I think the remix does a good job at increasing the clarity and making out the individual instruments and background vocals. On the other hand, they cranked up the bass drum way too high. Both mixes, imo, are great in some regards, flawed in others.

But no I'm not claiming to be an expert in audio engineering lmao this is just how I feel on casual listening

I will say, I do definitely prefer the new remix of Jetset Life

 

Wild that the whole thing released early on a streaming service and they're planning on holding it until June

 

Weird that they're releasing it on my birthday, I give them permission not to do that.

 

The Ghost of You is the first one where I feel like it's almost....too clean now? I dunno, something is sort of lost in the chorus with it I feel a bit.

 

The Ghost of You is the one song that I have no problems with from the original recording of the album. It almost sounds like someone else mixed it from the rest of the album when I hear it
